Here's my mystery snail story...
A few months ago, a LFS was going out of business and they were auctioning off items, I got 8 snails. I put 5 of them in my tanks, and sold 3 to my brother, he put 1 in my mom's pond...
Two weeks ago, I see something moving (everything else died due to chlorine) We got the net and it was a GIANT MYSTERY SNAIL!!! It was about 3- 3 1/2 inches!!! I had it in my tank for a few days and put it back in the pond.
Your snail is nice and chunky also, and your tank looks good. Good luck with the tank

I've kept mystery snails for years. They will only eat plants if they are STARVING. (unless is wasting/dead plants) I have too many in a 45g~ish snail tank that's fed once a day, sometimes skip a day, and they ate a java fern I had in there. I have over 10 in a heavily planted tank, they don't eat plants. Yours also looks pretty large. I thought when I first saw it, it was an apple.
