Thanks for the advise mellow.
I took it and decided to drain the water portion and fill the land portion with water, that way I could find the leak without tearing out the false bottom.
Turns out the leak was due to the paint coming away from the glass beside the pump housing.
Im going to dry it out fully and silicon the leak, then test it again. Fingers crossed..:drool:

Well the hypertufa has fully cured and dried out at last... It took over a week for it to fully dry, hypertufa is very good at holding water!
now the tank is full with water to soak out the lime from the cement.

I have been searching the web for diy canopy plans and Iv come up with a plan which I made a 1:5 model

I plan on building it out of hardyboard. Its fairly open to allow for good ventilation as I dont want to be messing around with fans.

Why no fans? They are very easy and cheap to install.

maybe i will put in some fans, but I will see how much heat builds up first.

Iv been having ideas on making a different, better vivarium but I dont have the space for another so Im going to put those ideas into this project.
The new land area is going to be more 3d and it'l look way better than the earlier boring old driftwood and hypertufa piece of poo.
should be finished on the weekend. (I hope)
