LOL Thanks Lousybreed... I think! Buddy the goldfish is around 9" long, and eats everything to excess. I got lazy and just fed the large tank a bunch of dry food last week, which led to his swim bladder issues.

BGK is around 8" long now, but he's so skinny he doesn't look like much.
The loaches have grown from 1.5" to 3" or so for the 5 larger ones. The 2 runts are still around 2"
The Bronze Featherback has put on a couple of inches since I got him. I dont' know what full size is for him but I suspect he's close to it. He's around 10-11" now.
The Gibby I brought home at 10" or so has grown to 13, and gotten faaaaat.
The Common has grown from 12 to 14-15", but the gibby owns the tank because he's massive.
ACF is ACF size, and still dumb as a post
I have a 6" long angelicus in there, but all I ever see are his feelers poking out of the cave, so I can never tell if he's growing. He's an old coot anyway I got for free, so I think he's full sized.

The original silver I had grew from 6 to 11" before he packed it in. Jury is still out on what went wrong with him, but I think it was stress, he was really shy, and the oscar bullied him a bit. My new silver in the grow out was around 2.5" when I got him 3 months ago, and is now around 7"

when they were all small I fed them mostly bloodworms, crickets, and hikari gold. Now that they are larger they get market shrimp, krill, superworms, shrimp pellets, and hikari gold. All depends on what I pull out of the freezer first, and how much time I have for feeding. The loaches all still go nuts for bloodworms. typically I feed twice a day. I used to feed more to get everyone to put on a bit of size.

That goldie is huge!! He's probably getting sbd issues because the food you feed is high in protein. A goldfish that big should be on a diet with a protein % in the thirties for his best health. Either that or he needs more roughage. Some unflavored soaked nori on a seaweed clip would probably send both him and your plecs into a frenzy. PHENOMENAL tank by the way. I can't even imagine how much time and effort that took, though this thread gives me a bit of an idea :D

Thanks!

I try to keep the goldfish eating peas and other roughage. He just got into a big pile of shrimp pellets and horked them down in a big hurry right before the SBD issues, so I'm going to blame that. He's not having any troubles pooping all over my little growout tank right now though, so I think he's past it! Since he's been out of the main tank though, my oscar has started to act more like an oscar and not be so shy, so I'm trying to figure out what to do. I might start a small pond.

I didnt think swimbladder could effect long bodied goldfish... I give mine shrimp pellets all the time, fancy and long bodied, strange.

Buddy eats shrimp pellets all the time too... this time he just happened to hoover about 30 of them all at once.

hey man, congrats on an awesome tank (and a healthy, despite his piggishness, buddy)

I read the WHOLE frackin thread last night. from page 1 through 48.

Now all I want to do is build a massive tank of my own..

gotta love the pig in goldfish

Lol, yup. Fat Dumb and happy. He's the only fish I know that can be unable to swim upright, but still eats. I had to restrain him in a net while I fed the Aro and TSN so he wouldn't worsen his swim bladder situation. Even after a stressful time held captive in the net while the others eat, he's back to normal (poking through gravel for food) in 3 seconds or less. *shake*
