My 45 Gallon Heavily Planted - 8 Weeks In - Seriously!

Our 45 had become kind of a catch all storage spot for the 150 so we decided to rescape / redo the entire tank ...

Took it down, painted the back, new substrate, etc, etc ...

Eheim 2215 (the 2 Fluval 305's are for sale in classifieds), pressurized Co2 at about 2 bps, and we cut the lights back from 166W to 101W with an 8 hour photo period (may even go back to 65W if algae pops up too quick). Added a few starter plants ... we need to get them going and begin to fill in (do want to stay with a more simple look - I hope).

We will be posting some more pics as it grows in a bit.

Very nice!

Looking forward to the progress of this setup, thanks for all the prior updates and I know this will be just as enjoyable. Thanks of sharing.

I really like the deep angle of the substrate on the right hand side - makes it look like a creek bank or something. Hopefully it will stay, most of the time nice dramatic stuff like that ends up smoothing down to just a lump after bit, lol...
