New to Saltwater - Help and suggestions wanted!!!

 this guy...

BOY THOSE LOOK GREAT!! THANKS FOR THOSE FANTASTIC PICTURES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

First thing first: You should send the coral back to the store untill you are ready for it. Corals are very sensitive to changes in the water and requier full salt tanks most of the time. Corals need lights that will prob kill most plants in a FW tank. Corals cannot live with any copper based substances. Corals are nice, but only when you are ready to care for them. i am an impulse buyer and i didnt get corals, which is saying something. Im the guy who goes to the pet store and sees a nice fish, or a lonly looking one, and buys it then and there, and i would never buy a coral bacause i know its better off at the LFS. Ok, so plz return the coral then do some research on SW corals and other inverts. when you are done that you can buy a coral again.

Wow. You're kidding, right? Whoever told you you can keep FW and SW creatures in the same tank is smokin'. Those polyps aren't extending because that coral is dying if you've added FW to the bag.
Cmon. You have a nice looking FW tank. You should know better than that

Ya, to me it was a joke for sure.. but knowing the mentality of most newbies and FW people, they would believe it and go out and try it. Just wanted to make clear to anyone who really thought the OP was serious that you can not do that.. not a chance. The first time I got a brackish fish (F8 puffer) the LFS told me to just take some table salt, toss is a few tablespoons into the tank, and walla, instant brackish... and I believed it not knowing any better at the time. They were not joking though, they really thought they were right.

hard enough for newbies & some experienced keepers to just keep SW going good, to just dump coral from natural salinity levels into FW, just add few tablespoon salt & puff, magic living for all! poor poor coral. going from SW of >1.01 to .6 ya think that's ok?! I agree do your research, members' experience here are good in general b ut if the industry doesn't sell that way what makes one think they can change nature? hope u will reconsider to return it or set up a SW tank.
