hi greech,
no bubbles on rock or sand.
not dosing anything either.
don't think anything ever got into tank and if so i would think the polyfilter would have helped.
in theory i should have had plenty of bacteria from the 2 raw shrimp i had in tank i would think.
never got a huge ammonia spike but it did go through an ammonia/nitrite/nitrate conversion.
still only have a skunk cleaner and snails in there as well a bunch of copepods so i doubt that i am taxing the system, as i only feed a few formula 2 pellets to the tank every other day.
what i don't understand is how the tank can look so crystal clear at midnight and then crudy in the morning.
i would think if i had something bad happening it would be constant.
testing all appears good with only issue is ph at 7.8 in the morning going up to 8.2 or so later on.
diatoms are gone, green algae is fading and hair algae is not super crazy at all but present and i assume just part of the new tank thing i have to go through, but i would have thought a bacterial thing would have been done?

I'm stumped. Are you dosing anything at all? 2-part?
Are you still seeing bubbles on the rocks, sand?
Did anything ever get into the tank?
Do you think this is a byproduct of having zero bacteria in the tank to start with? You never really saw a spike and now this? Maybe add a really nice piece of well cured live rock?
