teenagers of AC

It's one thing for them to offer advice or tell you to do something when you need it, but when my mom nags me about picking up my clothes in the morning or something like that it bothers me a lot. (we end up late by a minute sometimes because of that)

You're going to have to learn to pick your battles when dealing with your parents/family. I used to fight with my parents all the time when I was younger, but it usually does nothing but make the situation worse. There's nothing wrong with disagreeing with them occassionaly, but stupid stuff like dirty laundry isn't the biggest deal in the world.

However, when they try to tell you how to take care of your fish, now THAT causes some ripples... lol, ever had your mom (who has no idea what a filter is or what bb are) try to explain fishkeeping to you? Mine did, once. Key word, once. I pretty much gave her a lecture on how to properly keep fish alive XD

My parents have been telling me I need to be more conscious about spending money. All I spend money on are my hobbies, fish and airsoft, which are expensive, but its all I do. Its very agrivating because fish keeping is a huge stress reliever for me. I can spend hours rearranging my tank or just staring at it. Its not like I impulse buy either- do research and buy cheap but they still tell me I should "write down what I spend and be aware of how much I have spent" which is starting to ruin my hobbies because all I think about is the cost

In some cases parents need to give their kids more credit...
although I do have a lot of friends who can't stand having a fat wallet

You could do 50% into bank, 50% into pocket, and use that as a bargaining chip for them to stop complaining.

My parents always ask me, "do you REALLY need that" but I always won or bought it anyway. Now I have my checking account and debit card all under my control, and my parents give me $10 a week for doing chores and stuff (and it is supposed to help pay for gas when I get a car). They never thought it would stay very high. It started out with $200 and has never been below $100. I set a goal to keep it above $200. Right now it is at $370 (so I have saved for at least 17 weeks) After I get a job, I will probably feel better about spending money because I will be making it much faster than I spend it. (I am pretty cheap). But when it comes to my hobbies, I look up stuff I like and want, save up for it, and then buy it.

Take rc for example. I saw a motor and esc that cost $100. I let the account go up to $300 and bought it. When the esc died, I kept it (still under warranty) until I had the money to upgrade to the next model up ($75 to upgrade + sending in the old esc). Then I sent it in, ans waited until they sent the upgrade back. But then my wimpy old batteries couldnt power the system, so I had to save up $80 to buy 2 new batteries that could. Thinking about ordering some AA rechargeable batteries and a third but more powerful battery for the rc car.

The only time my parents interfere with pets is when my brother and I try to bring our foot and a half long bearded dragons to dinner. (my mom even let me get a leash for mine)ImageUploadedByMonsterAquariaNetwork1334807134.817853.jpg
