Catfish ID?

She sounds great...except for bringing home live wounded chipmunks...My husband "says" he's not a cat person but he always likes to interact with them. We had a dog (keeshund) years ago that he adored. After she died, no more mammal pets...& after our last bird died, no more birds either...so we're down to fish only...Vacations are less taxing now but I miss "cuddly animals"...(sniffle)

She wasn't that large - maybe 10-15 lb; easy enough to pick up and she loves to sit in your lap at night. Really sweet cat. she would follow me on 5 mile walks when i took the dogs.

Sounds like a sweetie. Animals are great. And we are animal people. We have six cats and two dogs. Plus my fish tanks.

Sounds like my place, we had 5 dogs plus my fish. My wife had a pit bull rescue for a while and we ended up with several. Unfortunately over the last year we lost three, 2 were old( 17 and 15 )and the other had a degenerative spinal issue that was incurable. But we got a puppy around Xmas amd now we have a cat that lived at our house before us that my wife adopted, lol and 3 dogs, the salamander and currently 5 tanks, but that fluctuates, I had 10 over the summer when I was breeding haps

We had three dogs up until a few months ago. The day after Xmas my Aussie-lab mix had a stroke sometime before we got up. We had to put her down. I was devastated.

Ya it’s rough, sorry to hear it, the tears were flowing here as well, our 17yo had a stroke too and was paralyzed from right behind the shoulders on back. The 15 yo had cancer. Dogs really do become part of the family

LOL. I've always liked cats in general. Almost as much as cichlids. I've always liked some of the bagrids, as well as the pimelodids. Some bagrids look very similar to pims. Anyways, speaking from experience, 10" maximum is small for blochii. They will hit 12" to 14" total length. I really wouldn't recommend them for less than a 6' tank. I bought three going of a 10" max and then they kept growing. They also are more active and fun to have if you have a small group, but a single will be fine on its own. In a group they chase each other and trade hiding spots, where one will usually stay hidden until feeding time or lights out.

So.. I ordered two 4 line pims and they arrived half dead and didn’t make it. I let the seller know and he asked for a pic and then I heard nothing else back and assumed I wasn’t going to get anywhere, so I went to a LFS and bought two more, he messaged me today and is sending two more. Wasn’t planning on 4 of these guys lol, but now I have a legit excuse for the bigger tank ?

LMAO. See? These things just sort of work themselves out... ? ???;)

You won't regret it. The way these guys behave in a group is great. Never a dull moment.

Actually I told her about the “building credit” thing and she said it starts with painting the front door next week lol

I have the fish room and my office. She can design, decorate, paint, etc. any other room in the house any way she wants. I don't like the couch we have, but she loves it. I don't say a thing, I just go with it. The first summer we were here I built all the stands for the fish tanks. Ever since I've spent the summers building custom cabinets, entertainment centers and stands, three beds, doors, book shelves, a gardening bench and I don't remember what else. I have built literally dozens of things for her. I already have a "to do" list for this summer. ;) Then to top that off, her sister always decides I need to make her one of something also, so that's applied to my credit as well. I have two rooms to tile this summer. We replaced all carpet upstairs with hardwood floors, and I'm finishing up tiling the rest of the basement, at her request. I plant 8-12 trees every year (some as tall as 8'), sometimes more, and move and place massive amounts of landscaping materials as well, at her guidance. The yard, all five acres, is hers. She gets a new vehicle when she needs one. She's on her fifth new car since we were married. My last truck I bought new well before we married and drove until it died at the ripe old age of 24. My current truck is 15 years old and running like a champ. After 24 years of marriage, and following the above practices, I may have enough credit to last the rest of my natural life, lol, if truth be told, and I'm still building. :)?

I have the fish room, my office, and a (small) portion of the shed for my fishing tackle. I have half of the third bay in the garage as my wood shop. I have my tanks, I fish, I collect and paint 28 mm fantasy and historical miniatures, and I've been running a continuous Dungeons & Dragons campaign for 20 some odd years now, and we play every other Saturday evening. (Yeah, I know, I'm a massive nerd, but at least I was a nerd before being a nerd was cool!) Anyways, that's it. I don't need a lot of credit for my hobbies anyways. And I never even have to use any credit for a toy in the wood shop since she knows more toys means I can build better things for her. I'm expecting to get a lathe this summer, lol. Anyways, other than fishkeeping, my hobbies are pretty cheap. I always have a surplus of credit.

So there's kind of a "how to" guide to building "fish credits". And I hope no one takes this as misogynistic. It's not meant to be. The things I used for example are generally traditional "guy" things because I'm a guy. It's just meant to show how easy it really is to let your spouse have his or her way for things that aren't really all that important to you so that he or she appreciates you a little more. Even if you really don't agree with him or her. It's meant to show how you can put a little extra effort into helping your spouse with things that are important to him or her, and shows how you can use your skills to make your spouse appreciate you more, especially when you're enjoying what you're doing, like woodworking for me. I always pick my battles carefully, and ask myself how important something is to me. And you know what, most things really aren't all that important to me.

It's all about the fish, folks. It's all about the fish.;)

Damn, that’s a lot you have going. I’m not that handy, I can do small things. I forgot to mention she wants the door painted red lol I think it will look horrible but I’ll do it. My wife decorated most of the house but I still have my western stuff so that’s cool. I can do whatever I want in the garage but it’s hard to enjoy year round cuz of the heat. I might try a portable AC, but I’m skeptical it will work with our extreme heat. Haha, I remember D&D, I didn’t know that was still around. The only time I played , if it counts, was the D&D RPG on the sega genesis
