    Gold Gourami

Nope. Sounds like you got two males. I'd take the one that's being bullied back to the pet store.

Checking water parameters in a small 5 gallon planted......

If you wanted to use CO2 you could probably get your pH down to 7.5 or even lower depending on the amount of saturation you could achieve.

    Guppy Had Babies

They would have been better off if you'd just thrown in a large clump of java moss. The fry would feed off the insuforia that surround all plant life, and when older they could catch piece of flake or other food that drifted down to them.

    Which should I get?

I think I'm gonna go DIY. The paintball CO2 might run me $20, but I may be able to get a canister from a friend, ridding me of overhead cost. Though... a small backup canister would also be nice to have for keeping the pH stead when I have to get the main refilled. After the canister...

    Gouramis with Guppy and Betta?

Gouramis and bettas are both labarynth fish (they breath atomspheric air), so they compete for the same area in the tank. Think of the gourami as a betta, once they meet you'll have a fight on your hands. The guppies will do fine with the gourami but your betta may not do well with them...

    Which should I get?

Will this work? I don't fancy paying $40 every 2-6 months though. Should I just go buy a Co2 tank from my local paintball shop? http://www.bigalsonline.com/catalog/product.xml?product_id=19231;category_id=2873;pcid1=3349;pcid2=

    Which should I get?

Will dosing with Flourish Excell and Flourish be enough to keep some high light plants? No, not the timers, they just click on and off, plus I already have one on my big tank. I want the ones that fade the lights.

    Which should I get?

I have a 20 gallon that needs better lighting than what it has, 2 14w spiral flourescent bulbs in a ten gallon light strip. I've always wanted moon lighting and now I've found it for a decent price (the PC bulbs at my LFS cost the same at the 20" hood). Anyway, I was wondering if I should...

    question

Take back the cory. They're social fish and you're already over stocking the tank. Get a test kit for ammonia, nitrite, and nitrate at the least. If you detect any ammonia or nitrite do a 20%-50% water change. That or buy some Bio-spira and you'll cycle the tank almost instantly to within...

    Do betta's need real plants?

I have a pair of rams, 4 corys, 3 serpae tetras, and a gourami (he's moving soon) in my 20g and everyone is quite happy. However, since you're using a hex try and think aoubt what you would stock a 15gal with. You could easily have: 6 neon / glo-light tetras, a betta, three cory cats...

    Nitrate fix

Call your local utilities. The only chemicals they should be adding to the water are flouride and cholorine.

    rams in a 10g

Because nothing else would fit. 10gal is too small for them, but it can work if they are the sole inhabitants.

    rams in a 10g

Plants are plants as far as rams are concerned. Unless you get a crazy one that decides it hates all things green and leafy.

    rams in a 10g

That's a rare find. Normally you won't see them for sale. I'd say one pair, a male and a female. Buy four so they can pair off, then return which ever pair you like the best.
