    Is this fish real?

I agree with Saram, looks like an Empire Gudgeon. Might have been cleaned up a little, but I see no reason to believe major manipulation has occurred.

    Live food?

Scuds! Daphnids and copepods are also great, and they thrive in scud cultures, so it's a nice more-for-your-money setup.

    Freshwater Artemia? (Fairy shrimp)

Fairy shrimp are not Artemia. I think they are just less popular due to differences in ease of egg harvest rather than any nutritional difference. I have not raised them myself, but I have fed wild-caught juveniles to salamander larvae.

    Earthworms/Compost worms.

Just an anecdote: red wrigglers (Eisenia foetida) can survive extended periods in water. I no longer use gravel in my turtle tanks, but when I did I would often find live wrigglers in the gravel; this was usually days or even weeks after I had last offered worms to the turtles. They also...

    crayfish/crawfish

Dwarf crayfish are the only crays considered fish-safe. There are several places online that sell them, and I believe some AC members also do. Search the classifieds area here. There are a few different species of dwarf crayfish, but all are in the genus Cambarellus. C. schufeldti, the...

    Company for pool comets

Just a note: mosquitofish can be fin-nippers, so don't keep them with long-finned goldfish varieties. The mosquitofish may also harass or kill juvenile goldfish. They're vicious little things!

    crayfish/crawfish

They're all mudbugs. If I'm not mistaken, English 'crayfish' was originally a mispronunciation of French 'ecrevisse'. Crawfish and crawdad are further variations from that.

    Unknown Fish?

Ha! I'm a newb on the NANFA boards; those guys are absurdly knowledgeable.

    ADA vs Glasscages?

Glasscages' tanks are exquisitely built. I haven't had any ADA tanks, but I can't imagine you would be displeased with a Glasscages setup.

    Unknown Fish?

It is a juvenile Lepomis sunfish. If you can get some clearer shots I might be able to tell you which one. Put the fish in a small container, put a lot of light on it (sunlight is great), and just snap a lot of pictures- that's the only way I know to get good fish shots. Lepomis are pretty...

    Rock/Stones

I dunno about that; metamorphic rocks are generally just a deformed variety of a sedimentary rock, with still essentially the same composition. So, limestone is deformed into marble, which is equally soluble.

    Company for pool comets

I agree with the above, but just as a long-term thing: yes, you can keep rosies with goldfish. Suitable bottom-dwellers include dojo loaches, large darters, and madtoms.

    Calcium Carbonate?

'Hydrogen carbonate" equals "bicarbonate". Calcium carbonate is lime.

I got lots of plants Today = Need lots of help identifying what I have

RE: duckweed, turn one of the plants over. Does it have a pinkish tinge and numerous roots attached to each 'leaf'? If so, it is Duckmeat AKA Giant Duckweed, Spirodela polyrhiza. This plant does grow a little more slowly than ordinary duckweeds (Lemna species) but can still take over.

    Overstocked?

Those are probably Macrobrachium; with them you have to worry about the shrimp eating the smaller fish, rather than vice versa.

    Freezing Live Bloodworms

I agree. Bloodworms are fairly easy to keep alive. If you do wish to freeze them, you can use an ice cube tray; put water and a small amount of bloodworms in each well. Pop them in the freezer and voila! If you wish to store large quantities, pop the frozen worm cubes out of the tray and store...

    Drilling a small aquarium

I think the more traditional overflow box/siphon combo is more practical when dealing with a glass tank. Your extension idea is interesting, but it may be difficult to create a watertight bond between the acrylic and glass. Of course, if you are willing to go through with the experiment, I'm...

    Using Coal as Aquarium Decoration

I would not. Coal can have sulfur and other toxins in it, and if it is not a very firm piece you will constantly have coal particles in the water, which besides being unsightly may actually cause respiratory problems for your fish. There are plenty of dark rocks around; just keep looking!

    Rock/Stones

What are you keeping? The vinegar test is to find out if you have a soluble alkaline rock, such as limestone, gypsum, marble, or certain kinds of sandstone. These rocks can raise your water's pH, KH, and GH, which is not necessarily a bad thing. Some fish, such as mollies and African...

    pond!

Your green frogs will overwinter in the pond. Sploke's right, the filter is unnecessary for them. If it were me I'd unplug it now; it's just wasting electricity. I'd leave the de-icer on for them, though; I've seen die-offs during long freezes here in TN, presumably due to oxygen deprivation...
