3M Colorquartz S Grade Pictures - Black

Just search on 3M's official site, use the store locator to find a distributor within your area. For me I had to travel to NJ to get mines. Make sure you call the distributor to see if they allow selling of 3M to regular consumers and if they have a minimum purchase. The distributor I went to at first had a 2 bag minimum purchase, then raised it to 3 bags, and now I'm not sure. These places usually sell these to contractors because it supposely used for floors & pools, but they do have occasional fish hobbyist asking them for this (I remember when I made the purchase the lady there asked me with a smiling face "Is this for a fish tank?"). So give them a call.

Here is the site to the store locator:

I'd like to see other pics of the different grade if possible.

Also question, I'm still new to this but I'm guessing any form of oil looking things is bad for a planted tank?

Love how the tank looks though! You staying in hobby now?

this stuff is sooo oily. i've been trying to wash this thing for almost 2 days now in hot, scalding water and even let it sit in water overnight. although the water is pretty clear now, i keep getting an oil substance on the top layer of the water. :swear:

I went through a lot to try to get my black S-grade CQ clean and than gave up and stored it. Recently I decided to try again, I rinsed it a few more times, added it to an empty tank & let a filter packed with filter floss run for a week and the oil went away. I was getting a black ring around the water surface too and that also went away. No ill effects have been seen & the stuff is gorgeous!

Msjinkzd has T-Grade CQ in her 220g tank, you should be able to find some pictures fairly easily.

can you explain what you mean when you used a filter packed with filter floss? how do i do that? i currently use a marineland 12 biowheel filter and it comes with its own rectangular filter that you just stick in. i will try anything to get rid of that oil slick on the top of my water so any info would be greattttt
