58g Planted w/overflow and sump

Well, I have been wanting to do some summer ponds for the first time..... No, stop it! I don't need this enabling. lol

It is about time to be putting out plants into summer ponds... Then fish soon too.

I am hoping I might be able do do something with ours this year... Time will tell... But I think lilies will be going into tubs this weekend while I am away.

Do you need lilies? I have had some growing points in a bucket for weeks now with no where to put them (tried giving them away). Last time I checked they were still firm and growing a bit. If you are interested PM me.

Not me... I am really more about glass boxes.

But, if you have pictures, I am sure the missus would take a peek willingly, variety is always the spice of life :) she is trying to think put her numbers somewhat, and I think that there are 12 plants on the way to the BCAS auction this weekend,; but everyone loves differing varieties of Lily... Right?

And, really, thankyou :) I will have to see what she thinks :)

I just put the trap in tank without the inverted lid, just to use as a feeding dish till I weigh my new feeding dish down. There was/is an immediate flurry of activity, night and day compared how they acted in the 29g! Very pleased! Several of the females are without eggs now so that will be another indicator for me.

I will check on the lilies tomorrow to make sure they are still at all viable but I have Peaches and Cream which has nice big flowers that tend to stick above the water level and the color changes day to day, Mayla which is a free flowering good sized pink flower with many petals and a big spread of pads that change from red to green as they age and a yellow lily that was given to me so I don't know the name lol, it has smaller flowers and blotched pads but flowers early and often. If they are still good and she is interested I have many pictures. :)

I'm glad the shrimp have recovered so fast! Congrats on the mollie fry too. It'll be fun to see what the light 1 turns out to be. You can start your own line (Sweet & sinful?) or at least see what other color forms have made up yours.

I love how your long threads go...where ever! I vote a summer tub/bucket of outdoor endlers & try them in the 29g former shrimp tank in the fall! I've tried to convince my husband our pool should be turned into a koi or goldfish & weather loach pond with lilies. So far no dice, he swims every day starting a week ago, but I almost never do. Can't he "swim with the fishes", lol?

Thanks Nancy! lol Love the new line name. ;) In reference to threads going where ever, this is outlet for fish talk so you guys get it all! I also have a pool that I've always said we need to turn into a koi pond, even though I use the pool a lot because yes I can just swim with the fish. :D

While doing a WC today I swore I saw a shrimplet. Can't seem to find another though although I didn't look too hard. Only possibility is that one of those half-berried RCS held at least one of her eggs from here to the 29g and back again. But on that note every single female RCS I have seen,at least 4, is berried now although most aren't full of eggs. And all but 1 Amano is berried again too. The nerites are laying eggs everywhere also. So things look good over here!

Water is a bit cloudier than usually after this WC, pardon that. And the pictures came out a bit too purple again, working on that. The balansae is growing a bit.

I'm a perv and got a shot up one of the girls skirts! She is only holding a small batch of eggs though.

Side shots to show how packed the tank really is, plants are right up to the glass now.

I have this build up on the inside of the tank and it is getting worse. I have tried the mag-float, scrubbie sponge and razor blades, nothing affects it. It doesn't have a texture either. When wet it is that noticeable but it really bugs me.

And a sexy photo shoot! This is the same girl showing her undercarriage early, the little minx. lol

Great pictures :)

I think that my crypts/plants look that purple under a 24/7 light in my tank... but depending on the time of day.

and I actually kind of like it like that ;)

Thank you. I'd say the plants are not quite that purple, more red. I love the 24/7 light! I love seeing all the different phases and colors, peak light is my least favorite so I's be bummed to only ever see that.

I love the light,

but I hate the fact that it never, ever goes truly out, and is about 5 feet from where I sleep :/

I'm looking for alternatives that will give the changes in color spectrum, but actually go out for the night.

And mine really do look that purple... at least to my old tired eyes anyways
