75 gal Setup Progession

I might be confused, but how do you open your tank to feed and get into with full covering and no hinged opening?

i am going to cut holes in it for the filter to go in. and will i need a heater too? or can that just be put in my filter? because i was told by someone that the heater can actually be put into the filter so it won't be seen in the tank. is this true?

how much was the glass? what are the dimensions?

$13. i'm not sure of the dimensions. but it was roughly 22" x 16 or 17" i think, but like i said, i'm not positive.

i got it at lowes. home depot no longer cuts glass, but imho, this glass looks much nicer than the acrylic i was considering, and it is clearer than the glass u buy at pet stores.

i figure that since i have to get the holes cut in the glass for the filter, i'll get the left side cut in half so that it will be easier to feed my fish.

i just got my filter today by the way, but since you can easily find a picture of an xP3 i won't upload any of that. but i am curious if i can put my heater in the filter itself, so if i need to cut a hole for that, too.

That silica sand is fine to use. I bought Pool Filter Sand it said 100% Silica sand right on the side of the bag. Here's a pic of the stuff I got. Didn't need much rinsing at al. That Diatomaceous Powder you have is to help filter dont use it without a closed filter like a Mag 350 or HOT, it "coats" the micron filter to enhance filtration. It will remove green water in one hour. There's a special way to use it to ensure none of the powder gets back in your tank.

i just added 100 lbs of silica sand to the tank. i'm trying to get pics up right now, but they will be up before i go to bed for sure.
