A couple more recipes for snail food

I got it at petsmart. Its in a green bottle in the reptile section.
Thanks hon, we have no pet smart so I will order on line. maybe doc fosters? I really want to get more into my snails. also the calcium pills, are these just vitimins ( calcium people take?

you want calcium without vit. a if possible, you can usually find it in the drug store. I can send you a baggy of calcium powder first class if you like :)

Im waiting for you to sell your biscuits!!! thanks hon, I will go look on line first. I have so many snails now I want them as healthy as possible.

If you can't find calcium w/o vits. (my situation also) can you use cuttlebone crushed into a powder for your mix? I've heard others use it as a supplement but not in this manner.
Ingredients: Ash 93.60%
Calcium: 31.20%
Moisture: 5.00%
Crude Protein: 4.10%
Crude Fiber: 2.30%
Crude Fat: 0.20%

Kinda wished those numbers made sense to me but it might be useful info.

I have Rep-Cal Phosphorus-Free Calcium with D3. Is that OK?

Thanks!

So I made 2 recipies last night for my shrimp and snails thought I would share....

Snail, Shrimp, and Veggie loving Fish food

50 Berry Flavored tums
3 heaping tablespoons of HBH goldfish sinking pellets
1/3 cup of water
Ground to a liquid
1 can of green beans
1 can of spinich
1 can of peas
1 can of carrots
Keep the juice and liquify
3 Bananas
1 Apple skin on
1 Pear
1/3 cup of water
Ground to liquid
1/4 cup of honey
1 4 oz jar of strawberry preserves

Cook on low heat for 30 minutes. then add 1 1/2 cups of water bring to a boil then add 8 packet sof Knox geletin cook for 2 minutes more. Now I like to scoop out into 1 gallon freezer bags about 1/4 full, get the air out and let gel in the fridge. This makes about 5 gallon bags full. I broke off a small piece once gelled and threw in the shrimp Red Rams tank and I had MTS coming up out of the substrate for the stuff. This also makes a great food for the veggie loving fish. Another adaptation is to add Kale one bunch and garlic 1/2 bulb both liquified for a more balanced fish food. You can also replace the goldfish food with 4 large raw shrimp with shells on. I flip back and forth on the Kale, Garlic, Shrimp additives every other time I make it. My Mollies tear it apart and they show great color and rapid growth on it.

Calcium Blocks for Snails

1 small tub of Strawberry, Apple, Banana
2 teaspoons of goldfish sinking pellets low fat content.
1 1/2 cups of water
Liquify

Now add DAP Brand Plaster of Paris until about the thickness of runny toothpaste and scoop/pour out into mold laet sit up for 2 days and then remove. Now let those sit for another 5 days or so before adding to tank. Molds can be made from all kind of things I use the candy holder from chocolate covered cherrys they seem to make a great sized block.

On a second note I found out you can get pure liquid Calcium 500Ml for $20 at my local safeway thru the pharmacy with no doctor note needed. If they don't have it they can order it for ya.

sweet find!

Geat info. I'm new to the "snail-yards". I bought two (to keep my guppy kingdom clean). Now I have a ****-load of baby snails. I've been feeding them only fish food and algea. Do I have to "calcify" anything or give them veggies and honey?
