Another Failed Stealth Pro Heater

I have to say it, sent the blown stealth heater back to Marineland and got a new Visi upgrade in the mail a week after.

Good.! and lets hope it works fine and does not cause anymore problems. Good luck.

Well had a 50w stealth heater stop working. I was doing something in the tank this morning and thought the temp felt cold. Checked the thermometer on it was 70 (room temp). Called Marineland and they said send it in and they'll replace it. I sure hope they don't send me another stealth. I'd rather have the old visi-therm. Anyway ...luckily I had a spare heater and everyone looks well and accounted for so I'll just consider myself lucky. :)

wow....iv had stealth heaters for years...my LFS has them and if something happens i take it to them...but iv never had anything go wrong with my stealth heaters...*knock on wood.*

Stealth heaters are awful. I will never own another. I switched to the Fluval E series and they have been awesome so far. They keep my temp within .5 degrees of what I set it at AT ALL TIMES!! I have them in all of my tanks now and swear by them. I also like how the heater tells me the current water temp and turns different colors if it gets too hot or too cold. I only paid about 30-35 for them all too. Not much more if not the same as a Stealth Pro

The same thing happened to me. I'm still using two stealths (out of four). I haven't had the overheat thing but did get the tank almost at room temp when the heaters were set @ 80. I just unplugged it four 24 hrs then turn up and down the dial and it seemed to work ok for now. I'll call marineland soon and try getting replacements too. For now ebo-jager, fluval m, and tronic heaters have worked great for me. All of the stealths are just a little over a year in use.

I have had at least one of my stealth heaters go bad on every one of my tanks, visi-therms are still still running great. Marineland has replaced every one of the failed heaters, and I have also lost fish that they have replaced. So I am also in the process of looking for a new type of heater also.

I wish I had found this thread earlier! I have gone to all stealth pro heaters in the past year. So far they are the best heaters that I've ever had. I'm going to be keeping a closer eye on them though! Thanks for the info.

Shoot! I need to check the numbers on my Stealth Pros. I've run both the regular Stealth and the Stealth Pros in all my tanks without issue thus far. I like them, especially now that they have a on/off indicator light. finally.
