another peacock gudgeon breeding journal

That's not that bad. I thought she meant something like vomit, etc.

hey ashes to ashes whenever our fry grow up we should exchange some

yeah that would be cool. I will def do a trade if I get some good survivors.

Captmicha, microworms smell much worse than just oatmeal lmao...they smell like rotting oatmeal and really strong yeast. It's probably not as gross to most people as it is to me since I can't stand the smell of oatmeal, but it's not a pleasant smell either lol. I am sure you will do ok with it though. I just can't handle the rotten oatmealness. I am a wimp lol. If you get some good white worms going I will trade you a started culture of grindals for a starter of white worms though. :)

Sorry, I made a mistake. I have banana worms, not white worms. I read that the bananas are supposed to be the smallest of all the worms I have. Want some of them when I get them going? The white worms like temps too cool for me to culture. I don't have a frig just for them to be at 40-50 degrees.

Maybe I could trade you guys some gudgeons also if I don't mess it up this time. My male and female spent all day in their pvc tube.

Sounds cool. I would def love to trade gudgeons around if I get some good survival. :) I don't personally want banana worms since they are kept the same way microworms are, but I appreciate the offer. I have the same issues with white worms...my temps get a little too high for them, but I was going to attempt to keep them again in hopes that maybe I could find a cool place in my house to store them.

Great vid, Ash! How many fry do you think you have?

I keep white worms in my basement, 55-65F ish, I don't know about other worms' temps etc. Remembering to feed them is the hard part for me. Maybe behind/under the toilet tank would be cool enough, our old dog liked it there, lol.

It must be peacock gudgeon breeding season or something.

Well, not that much new to report as far as the fry go. They are all swimming and eating normally and I have another tube of eggs incubating. Tonight my gudgeons laid ANOTHER spawn though lol. So, as requested I filmed a little of the dance they do before they go into the tube. This goes on for quite a while, so I just filmed a few minutes of it, but here you go.:
