CFL lights on a 180 - How many ????

The prices are better elsewhere.

You can get the nova extreme fixtures off ebay, sold directly from the manufacturer (Current USA), but refurbished, for a lot cheaper. Basically that means the fixture was returned, they replaced whatever was wrong with it, and then re sell it.

You'll have to be patient to find what you want though

2x39W, sold for $40 plus $20 for shipping.

Or $75 each brand new, shipping would probably be $20 total.

Another option

no brand listed, and the bulbs are listed as 35 watts each, not sure why.

T5HOs are more efficient, the bulbs are cheaper, and the bulbs last longer.

I got a new problem - I have plenty of depth but only 71" of width inside the hood! Each fixture is 36" x 4.25" x 1.5" so I need a min of 72" for the width. I am kinda stuck! I would have to CUT SLOTS into the side of my hood:thumbsdown:. I don't know what to do?

If they're in a hood get retrofits. That way you can get better spread, the lights won't be so concentrated around the center.

Icecap ballasts are nice, but $$$. they also overdrive the bulbs so you get even more light. You can use Fulham Workhorse ballasts to drive them (same kind that come with the AH Supply kits) and you can get those cheaply at 1000bulbs.com. Use championlighting or marine depot to get the end caps and individual lens reflectors and you're in good shape.

here's an idea...
one row 36" and 24"
next row 24" and 36"

or build a hood that overlaps slightly to make it fit.

THAT is a Good Idea - do you think it would still provide enough light?

AS for the hood - I made the one that's on there now its a bow front and I steam bent wood for molding and it took weeks to make so Building another one is WAY low on the list of options - LOL
