clown killies

Since we are on the topic of killifish, does anyone know the status of the unique killifish found in the desert sinkholes of the Western States? I think that 1 has been listed as extinct but am not sure of the status of the other pupfish species. Has the aquarium community been involved in breeding these to save them. Thanks for consideration

Do the clown only lay eggs in moss-type plants or the mop? I have a pair, but I don't really see any offsprings. I might have had one, actually.. but if could have been an oto fry. It died during my move, unfortunately. I do see mating behavior, too.

i put both in my tank, java moss and a yarn mop, i use peat moss extract to lower down PH, buy the CANADIAN PEAT MOSS (ORGANIC) put some in a microwave with water for 2 minutes or until its about to boil, wait till it cools down a little then squeeze the juice out of the moss using a fine cloth. do one bucket so you can use that when you change water. put the moss aside and you can use that for incubating annual spieces eggs, or other plant spawnners except for clown killies thier eggs are too small.

update:

some eggs are layed today from one of my trios, 4 times a day small feedings frozen blood worms, dried blood worms, BBS and Daphnias ( my own live culture) also making the water soft and acidic

Grats on the spawn! They eat the bloodworms whole? I was thinking bloodworms were too big for the majority of my fish.

Hm.. How do you make the water soft and acidic? I should move my pair of clowns to a 2.5g that's sitting around!

mix CANADIAN organic peat moss with water and put it in your microwave for 2 minutes max. then let it cool, you will notice the moss will sink to the bottom and it will produce a tea like color, now squeeze the moss using a fine cloth, then the extract you add to your killie tank
