Coler's stopping smoking thread

just remember the human being is not the smoker, that is the cigarette that does the smoking, the human being is simply the sucker.

I have never heard this before, it cracked me up.

I, like others, used to smoke and no longer do. If I can quit, anyone can.

:thm:

I smoked for 18 years 1+ pack a day. I quit 2 years 1 month ago and never looked back. Now don't get me wrong I have wanted to grab the smoke. Being in IT the stress and fishing always having the smoke hanging out just felt right. This is not easy to do but man did it open lot of things up for me quiting. I could smell something a mile away which is good and bad to some people. Food taste better... Lot better also and now I can smell a smoker anytime anyplace. I asked my wife did I smell that bad? She said 24/7

The key to quitting is to really want to. It also helps to have added incentive to quit. For me it wasn't so much a health issue, but the coming birth of my first child. I made up my mind that there was no way I was going to smoke around my baby! I quit cold turkey 2 months before my beautiful boy was born and he just turned 2 last month. I've never felt better, smelled better or had more energy. I definitly need it with a 2 year old! As time went by, I simply lost the desire and began noticing just how awful cigaretts smelled and how those who smoked reeked. So, hang in there Coler, you will be glad you did.

Argh. Sorry folks. Going to have to start with 1 again tomorrow. Stick with me.
