Hey thanks for the advice, ill definitely try it out next time I take the pictures.
As for selling these fish, it's not going to happen. This is my first time going through with it and im just doing it to see what they're going to turn out like. This breeding thing was never planned or anything, I never thought it would happen when I purchased the fish. I had no idea my Firemouth was even male till all this started happening. After I manage to see how this batch of fry will turn out, I will most likely separate the Convict and Firemouth to stop the constant spawning, because it's a pain in the butt more than anything. I have to keep dispatching of the eggs, and sometimes I feel like a real jerk doing it lol. Not only that, but my main tank becomes pretty chaotic when eggs or fry are present. The Convict gets really aggressive and the Firemouth takes most the beating.
Depending on how this batch of fry turn out, ill probably end up wanting to keep 3 or 4 of the hybrids till adult hood just to see what they'll turn out like. Right now the fry are in a fry cage sitting in a spare 10 gallon tank that houses a school of tetras. As the fry get larger, ill start releasing them into a spare tank that I already have waiting for them. Im afraid they're still small enough to get sucked up into a filter.
