Crayfish Owners, Please Read!

Oh my, Kim, what an amazing story! First the drama of the tank, then seeing mommy telling her battalion of lil ones "all aboard", soooooo cool!

Such excitement!!! She looks great and I can't wait to see pics ofthe babies as they grow.
I would have freaked out about the broken tank with all those babies! Good job

:lol::lol:
What are you talking about I think I did FREAK OUT, I was screaming for my husband HELP HELP HELP HELP, when he made it in the room he had this panicked look on his face too. Then I told him to grab the siphon out of here and grab the tape and do this and help me hold this, he is so great. But then he asked me why did you break the tank, like I said to myself Hmmm, I need to replace this tank today. Crack! LOL.

When I got the tank taped up and figured out that it would hold for me I relaxed a little, but still frantic about moving all those little ones.

I am just so thankful that everything went as well as it did. I haven't had a minicycle or anything, everything has worked out so great. :fingers crossed:

Some of babies are starting to venture out on their own now. They are so cute and tiny. I will watch a few of them run over my trumpets face while they are licking the glass and the trumpets don't even flinch. I wonder if the can even feel it. I witnessed a fight between a ghost shrimp and a baby. It really wasn't much of a fight though. The shrimp touched the baby(surely thought it was a speck of food) and the baby flew back with a quick swish of her tail waving her claws. LOL.

I am hoping to get some more pics this weekend and I am going to see if my camera will zoom in that close for a baby pic. When I say tiny, I mean really tiny. Well to put them in more of a portional look, think adult mystery snail poop, that is about what they look like. LOL

Well after many drained batteries I have decided I have to wait until the babies get bigger to take pics of them. They look like pieces of poop in the photo, LOL. After a big wc yesterday Marley has moulted for me for the 1st time after she gave birth. Really neat thing was that the babies are eating more of the shell than Marley is. As always when I see the shed, I double check to make sure that it is just a shed, I see Marley sort of hiding behind it picking at it as I look closer I see hundreds of babies all over it picking at it too.
So I guess that now she has made her 1st shed after the baby making, I know that she will be alright. I have been sort of constanly conserned about the Calcium level in the water, wanting it to be stable enough for her and her babies.

Well be posting pics as soon as they are available.

Patiently waiting on pictures hehe :grinyes:
