truthfully we had a relatively cold summer. if u look back in history im sure u will find some sort of pattern though we are definately contributing. @ least we wont b like venus in our lifetimes

it was really mild this summer last winter hmmm . oh yeh olympics are gonna be here in vancouver soon ............... The media has stated the scientific prediction is for a mild el nino winter . notice they didnt say global warming will screw the olympics . they said el nino . hmmmmm odd isnt it that the scientist s and geologist s and weather specialist s didnt say global warming . EL NINO which is a weather trenD lol like global warming just el nino come s and goes in a season global warming in the past has taken many years and is alway s followed by global cooling
WTF DOES THAT MEAN HEE HEE

LOL

And I thought we hit bottom pages ago... Glad to see this thread has deteriorated even further now, from angry conjecture to gleeful incoherency.

Well the article itself states:

Quantifying trends in NPP, as we have sought to do here, is necessary but not sufficient for understanding land surface net ecosystem exchange of C[O.sub.2]. The same climatic changes that have caused decadal-scale increases in NPP can also change aboveground and belowground carbon allocation, decomposition rates, disturbance regimes, and other processes that cycle carbon between terrestrial ecosystems and the atmosphere

There really isn't the whole piece of the puzzle here. It's an interesting study nonetheless.

Every time someone brings up the topic of global warming on the forums, 10 people line up to talk about how it's bad science or bs. Any one of those with that inclination care to put some money where their mouth is and offer up some sources? I've seen scads of info that argue strongly for the presence of global warming at the hand of man, but very little credible documentation arguing against it. Being of skeptical nature though, I'd like to see what the other side has to say. Anyone care to show some scientific texts of a non politicized nature to back up the argument against global warming?
All I can say is this "summer' we had only two weeks with over 90 temps. Usually we have two months. And sometimes more. It was 30 this morning.

all i can say is we reached record lows all over bc and some of alberta last week thanks to some arctic air . I have also read i forget where but not to quote lol

carbon is 3% of all the greenhouse gas and 3% of that 3% is man made ! hmmmm and the kyoto if met , would cut the 3% of the 3% of all the greenhouse gas and change it to (this is tricky) 2.5% of the 3%

I like the solar radiation theory better than the carbon theory , at least the dips and rises on a graph correspond better to the temp of the planet.
But more interesting is the newer theories that say the climate change is from a slow movement of the globe axis due to the magnetic fields around the world , global magnetic fields or somethin,,, and they estimate 700 years till the poles reverse.
whoa yikes!!!
science is theory that has become popular opinion . too many believe what the media or a government figure would tell them to believe after all what else is there right???
