My first woodworking project, normally a metal guy, but anyway here are some pictures of my progress on my stand. I wanted to design something a little unique. I am fully aware of the extreme over engineering, but its what I had available to me, and better to be safe than sorry.
I wanted a very clean smooth look to it all, as you will see I dont even have handles on the doors (they spring open on touch). The back of the tank was spray painted black (Krylon).
Now, I am just finishing up on the hood, then I will add the water and fish hopefully by next weekend. It will be a Cichlid tank with my Electric Blue Haps, Yellow Labs and Breeding pair of Convicts. Once again I am aware of the differences in requirements for the fish, but I ride their water chemistry boundry limits and it seems to be working as even in their current setup they are breeding like crazy.
Months ago I started asking questions on this forum as to where to begin and looking for ideas, so I just wanted to share my project, and say thanks for all the advice. If you have any questions or comments please feel free to share.
