I want another color gravel in a flask (purple?) with an airstone bubbling up through the stones. (I'm married to chemist so i tend to lose the radioactive-ness)
I'm picturing safety googles with java moss growing on them for decor, maybe some small flasks or test tubes, LOL

Oooh, that would be great!! You should get him a betta for where ever he works, and set it up for him. You could have a couple smaller vials with different colors of gravel, the bubbler flask you mentioned, and even try other things! You could build a little playground with molecule models.![]()
The possibilities are ENDLESS!!!!

These are such GREAT ideas. I'm a chem prof. and I have a 5 gallon in my office - will definitely put some of these ideas to work -- I especially like the goggles with moss and test tubes with colored gravelI'm proud to be a nerd - and will be joining the ranks of the nerd-quarium owners!
OOO - I have a nice dark colored periodic table that would make a good backgroundI think the models would be OK - just plastic. I'll have to look an mine and see where it's made, I'd mainly be concerned about lead in the dye, hmmmm I can't wait to get to school tomorrow and start working on my nerd-quarium!
:uhoh: Uh-oh, Chem prof! I'm a biology major. I'd love to understand chemistry...but... it ain't gonna happen :headshake2:. I'd rather be mucking through a wetland than staring at vials.![]()
We'll have to set up a nerd-quarium post once we start getting a few tanks together! We can show off our nerd pride!
