Normally its propped on the door, so its not a problem, unless I leave it open

Does anyone know of a diagram of how to hook a diy spraybar up to a powerhead? I am going to be constructing one when my 77g arrives but am quite onclear exactly how they work.. are they pressurized? I can;t seem to find anything one this. Thanks.

I'd imagine if you use the right diameter PVC and find the right barb fitting you can just plumb the thing without too much issue at all. Take the powerhead down with you, it's possible you'll find something with an inner diameter that fits snugly over the output on the powerhead.

What's a spraybar and what purpose does it serve?

A spraybar is usually a piece of pipe with a bunch of holes drilled in it along its length. It serves to help diffuse the output of a pump or canister filter.

That is part of it, and also to keep the output from being a single fast stream that blows around fish, plants, substrate, etc.
