Does anyone keep Cyrtocara Moorii with Mbuna?

Filled up my tank completely today. (have been filling it up in stages the last few days).

I did it with buckets as I wanted to measure just how much my 350L tank actually held considering displacement, the fact no-one ever fills it up right to the top and manufacturer LIES, heha.

It came to 225L (60 US Gallons)

So, I think we need to have a look at the stock list again maybe?

Local shop has some stunning Synodontis Petricola in stock. Was going to ask them to keep some for when I'm cycled but they were £40 each!!! - thats like $6000 :evil_lol: Argh. I will go for the lonely Featherfin they had in instead maybe, he was only £8?

Anyway, Filters, heater, air pumps etc will be going on soon, so I can start the cycle:)

It seems you are doing everything great!

Grr...had to drain it out.

I put 3 background peices in before I filled up, but the small one on the side of the tank floated up.

Gonna have to stick it back and then wait 4 days for the silicone to set, then I'll be back to where I was yesterday.

Grrr....

**** it.

The reason it didn't stick is because the glass isn't straight, it kind of curves around, so only a little bit of the background was sticking. When the water is filled it will just come away again.

So now I have no side panel and lots of silcone mess on the side of the tank!!!

Don't know if I've said this before but....GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR.

That bites man try that epoxy puddy from Dr fosters its a tad bit stronger..

Yeah, luckily I had some Aquascape Epoxy lying about unused.

So, what I've done is epoxy some largish pebbles to the bottom front of the background to hold it down, and then I'm going to use the epoxy to attach the top of the background to the tank (where it actually touches).

So I'm thinking that should work. Didn't really have to drain the tank for this though..grr.

cool well hopefully it will help you on the bonding issues now, good luck man..

I was out walking my dog this morning, and by complete chance I met an old friend from School. We got to talking and I mentioned I was just setting up a fish tank. His eyes just lit up and was like - "what"?

Turns out he is a big fishkeeper and has been for many years. He was the last guy I'd expect to be interested. He was like a major playboy, lol. Not that playboys can't be fishkeepers. ANYYWAY, I digress... he invited me around to see his tang tank in which he keeps Frontosa and Leleupi. You don't think I could keep like 2 Frontosa and a group of Lelupi in my tank do you?

I know, I know...all this planning etc, but his Frontosa were like the greatest fish I've ever seen in my life:duh:

I've been reading up and I think that although Frontosa are best kept in colonies of 6+ in 6ft+ tanks, they do good in smaller groups as well? I think I could create a happy home for 2 of them. I don't know, just putting my thoughts out there...I got plenty of time to think :)

I had 5 front's and 6 brichardi in my 120gal and it was ok yours is 92gal correct i would say you may get by with 3 of them for a small colony with a few smaller Tangs specimens.

cool man i hope it works out for you..
