I've used a pair of Emperor 400 on a 75 gallon with good results, also an Eheim 2213 on a 30 gallon, also with good results. What size tank are you trying to filter, anyway?

It took me about 10 minutes to decipher this.

As for the filter, get an Emperor 400 on the 55, 3 of them for the 120 gallon and a Rena XP3. And for the 10 gallon, a Penguin 100.

If money isn't really an issue, I'd go with cannister filters completely for the 55 and 120 tanks.

For the 55g either a Rena XP3 ($120) or Eheim 2026($220) would be great.

For the 120g, either 2 XP3 or 2 Eheim 2026.

For the 10g...I'm about to setup a 10g using a Tom Rapids Mini Cannister. $20 from Big Al's.

One of the major considerations (that may have been mentioned and I missed) is what kind of setups these will be.

There is a lot in this question eg:

If you are setting up a planted tank the best solution is a canister filter because of flow control (submerge the spray bar vertically) and absence of surface disturbance (to avoid losing introduced CO2)

Or maybe a mbuna tank that needs all the surface agitation and bio-surface that it can get (HOB filters of various stripes or a large wet/dry).

etc, etc...

Also you seem to be setting up a lot of tanks for someone asking this question (I might be off base here), maybe start with one (the largest) and wait to have more experience to set up the other ones.
