Finally got that salt tank...

Tank bred doesn't have anything to do with it. It's an instinct for them to feel secure but that doesn't mean they will choose a nem in our tanks over a powerhead, a heater or just a corner of an aquarium. The nems sting is what seems to draw them in though.

My clowns are captive bred and they had never seen a nem until I added a haddoni carpet. Somehow the female knew what it was almost instantly and went out of her way to keep the little male out of it (had she not, the carpet probably would have eaten him). She spent the next several days mouthing the tentacles and slowly pushing her head in without going all the way in. Eventually she was "all in" and started to show the male how to acclimate himself to the nems sting. Unfortunately the nem took a turn for the wosre shortly after and I lost it. After the carpet died, they went back to their corner rock.

So my nem is retracted for te night and my female was down rubbing on it some more.

She definitely knows its there and is interested. Looks like she knows you are there too.

Very exciting update! Hopefully soon she'll be "all in" and will start getting pabst used to the nem :) I'm glad everything seems to be working out. :D

Lol best part of the video is when pabst is like "HEY! Whatcha doin!!?!" but penny isnt having it and chases him off like "I love you, now go. away."

I was late to work because of these pictures lol. My tank is in my laundry room so when I went to get clothes I ended up standing in the dark taking zoomed pictures of her in the nem lol. Good thing my boss understands his much I love
my fish, and only asked to see the pictures I took

My clownfish tried hosting a powerhead. Poor fella kept getting blown back from it and eventually gave up.

I think with Christmas coming up I want to upgrade my lighting, skimmer and add another powerhead.....maybe I'll update to a 40B
