Glock's 120 Build

you got it.

Tank is coming along nicely, looks good down there, and glad to see you decided against stingrays, I think that will be for the best.

Agreed, my LFS had mis-informed me when I asked about them. They were claiming they only got to 8inches across and would do fine.

AS for "NEW" stocking:

-6 Angels
-Possible pair of GBR's if they get along
-2 Highfin Spotted Plecos
-6 Oto's
-Maybe some loaches? :)

You should get some Longnose Angels, I rarely see them in people's tanks. They would look sweet. Good build going.

coming along nicely,

the stocking should be fine too.

with oto's see if they are feeding at the shop where you get them they can be selective feeders sometimes.

a tank that size with proper structure.. the rams may never see each other ;)

diskboy 12... long nosed angels??? are you referring to P. Leopoldis?

definately get a big group of kuhlii loaches. they are an interesting fish

Since you've got CO2 this fixture would work great
http://www.catalinaaquarium.com/product_info.php?cPath=71_7_68&products_id=1356

The 125W power compact fixture would probably work, the bulbs are only 41 inches though, and the T5s would be a lot brighter.

Even 2x80W would work, the whole tank would be lit and I don't think the light output would be a whole lot less.

I was thinking about that light but wasn't to sure. I'm kind of fond of my CFL's I have now and my 10 gallon planted is doing awesome with CFL's.

Also, I received my dry ferts today and have a few questions.

It says to mix 1/4 of a cup potassium sulfate with 500ml of water and dose 1-4 per gallon per day. This is the same with Potassium Nitrate.

Would I be able to get away with 120 drops per day of both since I will have quite a bit of lighting and CO2 going? These ferts came in little 1lb bags and look like they can make a lot.

I also got mono potassium phosphate. That says add 1/4 tsp to 1 liter of water. When would I dose that?

I also bought Plantex CSM+B. I found all 4 of these in the planted section but if I remember right CSM+B is something you dose very rarely. How much would I dose of this and when?

How would I go about making a dosing schedule because that seems like a lot of chemicals per day for 1 tank. every day.

Ok so I have an update that will make people wet themselves. :)

Ta-Da! I bought my sand today. White Silica Handy Sand. 150 lbs. Menards, $4.87 per 50 pound bag. I also filled the aquarium dreading to have to clean the sand but was surprised as I was filling that the sand didn't need to be cleaned. Looked at the bag and saw the thing that opened the heavens:

"Pre-Washed Non Toxic Pure Silica Sand - Dust Free"

I just about dropped a brick in my pants I was so happy.

Think I over did the decor?

I threw on all 4 lights to see what bulbs they had in there. To my surprise they have 2 10,000K bulbs in the one light and 6,000k Blue Actinic bulbs in the other. For now, I'm going to use these lights and use some nice fake plants in the mean time till I can save up a lot more money (Need to furnish my room and buy a new car!) and buy the lights, CO2, and plants all at once.

But don't fear! That crappy HOB filter i'm using right now on it is going bye bye after my next pay check and order both my canister filters and heaters.
