heres my review on Aquadise...

Cypress, your photo does not look like Downoi to me. This is what Downoi looks like:

Downoi3.jpg

"Downoi" by the way i some sort of wierd made up American spelling of the Tai word "Dou noi" which means "little star".

Aquadise imports all their plants from Asia, and from experience I can tell you the majority of the time they come in extmely small, (I am talking about any time you import)

When you buy plants that are grown in American Florida nurseries, more often than not they are cultivated to be larger and healthier. A nursery in Florida is currently cultivating "Downoi" (Pogostemon helferi) for me. When they release it, the plants will be the size of your fist and look like the picture above.

And here is some more comparison:

your photo of moneywort, take all those stems in the bag and put a lead band around it, and thats what you get for two dollars from any online seller of Florida grown plants

Same thing with the Bacopa and Ammania. Most common stem plants like that are sold by the bunch for 2 dollars or less and each bunch has 5 to 10 stems. Florida grown plants are bigger, better, and mre dependable.

Hey man, I'll tell ya what- I live in Florida, and if you could point me to a reputable semi-local plant source, I'll make you my e-friend for life. I know for sure there's nothing in the Daytona area.

ok sorry it has taken so long to post back here on my order of plants from aquadise, so this is what happened, they did not send me a email when the item shipped, on the 12th day i was like dude weres my plant, the 14th day dude weres my plant, 16th dude weres my plant so they got frustrated with me and told me that they would refund me my money i placed the order back on 9-16-07 and to this date still no plant and a refund, so i will email them again dude weres my money over and over again til i get my money back, well that is what i get for do business with a low grade dealer, my advice is for anyone wanting to deal with aquadise make sure you pay the extra for shipping..

Whoa. I kind of wonder about that operation. I asked for a refund of 6 bucks or so for the plants they didn't ship me, and instead they refunded me 10. :screwy:

Not complaining, but it doesn't make a lot of sense.

Robert-

Once planted, the Downoi they sent me looks just like the pic you posted, it is just much smaller. unfortunately we don't all have access to Florida plant growers, so we make do with what we can get.

Also, the amount of Bacopa Monnieri they sent cost me $1.98

I bought my plants off of their ebay store, and for the price I couldn't be happier.

I don't know how the operation works, but they seem to use a lot of fuzzy math.

You won't get exactly what you order, some of the plants aren't in good condition, but for the price go ahead and try to find something better.

Overall: Mildly pleased.

Both times I bought plants they came healthy and beautiful with very fast shipping. Guess I was one of the lucky one, i'm thinking about buying some anubias since anything decent around here costs alot.

AQUADISE IS THE WORST!!!! BEWARE!!!!

AQUADISE GETS A HUUUUGE  FROM ME!! I was recently burned pretty bad by him. I never received an order and was promised a full refund by him over two weeks ago. Only problem is that ever since he promised me a refund he became 100% non-responsive to any of my emails...and still no refund or communication on his part. The entire ordeal since payment has been more than a month now, extremely frustrating. The saddest part is that he is refusing to give me a refund he promised me of $10??!! Seriously, ten bucks....really pathetic. I am glad that i decided against doing a much larger order because this was my first experience with him and his feedback on eBay was a little iffy. Ebay has since revoked his registration with them...his store has been non-existent for weeks now; which yes, was my first sign something "fishy" was going on. He did not even respond to my initial dipute through Paypal and I just upped to a claim today. Interestingly enough I noticed he has his online store, aquadise.com up and running again as of a few days ago...hmmm. It had been closed for "maintenance" for a while. How can he sell more plants to people when he still has longstanding obligations to others?!? I am sorry, but this guy is greedy and puts the $ way ahead of the customer. He admitted that he did not even have the plants yet that he was already selling, AFTER THE FACT OF COURSE! This was one of the many excuses he gave me the first three weeks. He took advantage of my understanding nature; the slime-ball actually had me feeling sympathetic to his situation at first. He clearly has no business ethics and customer satisfaction/service are at the bottom of his priorities. In regards to his eBay feedback, it is totally unacceptable. His latest rating before he got axed was 95.9%; members who left positive:3534 and negative 152. He also had 450 neutrals as well. I guarantee he would have had many more negatives if eBay hadn't gave him the boot when they did...his last two were and I couldn't even leave feedback for my transaction. Based upon the volume of plants he sells there has to be many more people in the same boat as me. Clearly, I had nothing to do with him getting kicked off eBay....kudos to whoever did though!!:) I'm pretty sure McDonald's strives for better customer satisfaction!! If you only read this thread, the results from him are way bad....seriously, if you compare the good to bad (or ok, i guess) it is horrible. Man, do I wish I would have read this thread before I sent him my $. His policies are so vague, it always benefits him, what other businesses (sorry, I should specify: ethical businesses) are run that way?! Am I the only one who thinks his shipping guarantees are mainly a fail safe for him. I mean if you don't pay extra for shipping he can basically send you anything he wants...including half dead plants, what the :swear: is that. Just from reading various forums (try Google searching Aquadise and see what comes up) it seems as if he rarely actually sends all the correct plants (selling stuff he doesn't have obviously, and not just an occasional thing which would be understandable as things do happen sometimes--but this regularly, that is just misleading and a scam) and even if you pay extra for shipping it still doesn't guarantee good quality and healthy plants. Bottom line is however, you should not have to pay extra to receive living plants...that is completely ridiculous. If there is not at least a 95% chance that the shipping method offered will be sufficient for the item being shipped it should not even be offered as an alternative; and certainly not advertised as a bonus by seller. That is just plain crap. Free shipping is a big sale maker, and you think Aquadise doesn't know this when he misleads people, give me a break. That is like a seller shipping a live coral and offering free ground shipping but no DOA guarantee; it would never happen. Why? Because anyone knows the chance of a live coral making it this way is slim at best; it would never even be made an option. So if the FREE SHIPPING!!! that Aquadise offers, or should I say baits, it's customers with is not a reliable enough form of shipping (which clearly the seller believes according to his own policy) it SHOULD NOT EVEN BE OFFERED!! That being said, I am fairly new to the planted tank scene but have been an avid reef keeper for over 15 years. I have shipped corals in the past and have only ever had 1 coral DOA and that was due to error on the shippers part and was covered by insurance. Needless to say, any coral is way more touchy than any live plant, hands down. So how does this guy manage to get so many dead plants to people; because he sends em that way and uses his "non-guarantee" to cover his ***, come on. The only other plant order I have ever done was shipped ground and was just fine, oh yeah...and it came all the way from Singapore?!?! Not Houston, which is where Aquadise apparently is located. Can someone explain that one to me if Aquadise is sending quality plants all the time? Ok, sorry. I am kinda new to the forum scene and hate to start my first thread this way but if it helps to prevent anyone else from getting burned by this guy I will be happy. There are a lot of understanding and good people out there and Aquadise takes advantage of this, just slimey and he needs to get a big-time wake-up call. BASICALLY, AQUADISE IS HORRIBLE AND I WOULDN'T TAKE THE CHANCE. Pay a little more and get elsewhere. Besides, if the main reason people order from him is because his prices are so good but you HAVE to pay extra for the shipping is it really such a great deal anymore?? I have seen people saying that even with the Priority shipping it still took two weeks or more to get their order?? My free shipping order from Singapore took less time??!! Oh, that place is called Aquaticmagic, they have an eBay store and they are the only place I have been able to find Flame Moss. I think I paid $5 for the moss w/free shipping, how can you beat that? They were really great to deal with and their service was top-notch. Aquadise could use to learn some lessons from them about customer service. They were very responsive to all questions, sent all payment/shipping confirmations. I would highly rec. them over Aquadise, well actually I would rec. anyone over Aquadise. Aside from all this who would want to due business with someone whose own word means nothing? He promised me a full refund more than two weeks ago and has since completely ignored me, awful businessman!

AQUADISE:
HIGHEST PRIORITY = $$$$$$$$$$$$
LOWEST PRIORITY = THE CUSTOMER
