i cant take the wait any longer

I know you said you want an angel, but what else do you have in mind for the final tank stocking?

well that is also in limbo for i'm not really ready for the final stock. i've been looking around, but didn't want to start a stocking thread while this one was going. (i have that asian theme thread going - but that's my other tank). as of right now angels is basically all i can tell you. i'd imagine a school of compatible fish (maybe rasbora if they will be ok) a smaller end loach(s).. i'm pretty much wide open to suggestions. either platinum or leapord angels are a definite.

and, here is a picture...

haha sorry just a teaser. i'll take a nice pic thursday evening, (full tank of plants arriving at my LFS). little barren now, so i'll fill it in with some plants and you guys can have a look-see.

**edit, now that that i look at the picture, maybe one of you can answer me this.. i stuck that strand of plant (came like 4 tied together) in my skull's eye.. will it be any different than having it planted in a group or in the gravel itself?

I had a long post typed up that included some lyrics to kumbaya, but had a computer fail. :(

That plant (Anacharis) will be fine as is. If it's not getting enough light it will start shedding leaves. I also agree that adding otos would be a bad idea right now. Nor would I suggest a pleco just yet, but a BN might be just the thing in the long run.

All the drama aside, this is probably one of the most valuable threads I've seen here.

lol on the kumbaya, it's the only song i can play on guitar believe it or not.. would have loved to do a youtube collaboration.

anyhow, thanks for the plant i.d./info (i could have sworn my LFS guy - Eddie Spaghetti, whom i lose trust for everyday lol, said they were illegal in CT and he didn't sell them.) anyhow, glad to hear. i'm going to take a day off of from AC tomorrow (well deserved if you ask me, i've been on this like a hawk lately and been slacking in my other leisure activities.. (((bar scene)))) pending tests go well tomorrow, i will be back with photos thursday night with some new/more lowlight plants that will hopefully survive w/o any injection or whatever that CO2 talk is... i'm finally understanding the basics, don't need to tack any more on at the moment. will leave that for my next abominable thread.

:iagree: Anyone who is thinking about doing a fishy cycle need to come read this thread, to see how much work it really is KUDOS to you Katuuuz for sticking with it!!!

glad you encouraged this thread after denying me the sacred waters of NH. l'm just kidding, i can't take full credit though, everyone contributed to this bible of a fish-in cycle.

:D

You could of had all the "Mystery" NH water you wanted.
It would of been the shipping costs that killed ya :D

Eh, I dunno. While I agree this thread may end up being printed and binded as a fishy cycling guide in the end (); I've done a fishy cycle on my tank only about 2 months ago and it went without a hitch. I still have my original fish I cycled with and they are doing just fine. I don't say these things to throw dirt on Katuuuz fire, but I don't feel fishy cycling is as hard as some make it seem. As long as you have willpower and diligence, of course. The biggest downside is the risk to your fish, which some may critizise me for choosing to do so. Fortunetly, now that I have a well seeded tank, it will be much easier to start up any new tanks.

On a side note, I might have had simpler results with fishy cycling due to my tank only being a 10g with some plants, but I am not entirely sure.

Smaller tanks are easier to change water, but due to their size, is less forgiving whem it comes to water parameter swings.
