Idea for a shrimp tank

And it costs $50? My 2,5 gal shrimp tank is actually a fridge vegetable drawer. You wouldn't know if I didn't tell you;)

This one would be very good. Ive seen some impressive jar aquariums using those for shrimp with a simple desk lamp over them, but itd work just as well in a window too.
Im going yo use a light. I think id work but Im not sure yet.

No, 25. Can I get a pic of your shrimp tank?

Im also considering the aqueon frameless cube (1 and 3 gallon). I just dont know yet. I haven't been to my Petco in like 5 years so I'll have to check it out. :)

Why not use a dollar store fish bowl? Or a mason jar?

I was thinking that. I'll have to go out to the stores some time to look. I have time as it doesn't have to be ready for like 3 month. I would like to get it established for ~ a month first though. :)

So Im thinking of doing 3 of these shrimp containers. One 1.3gal, 0.55gal and a 0.36 ga. Do you thinks it's doable? I could always just skip the 0.36gal but I thought it would look cool. My next issue is light. Another light was used on a contained similar. I have the link down there. What do you guys think? The only issue with the light is that there is on on/off switch. Thanks

For the light just get an USB adaptor, and plug it into that which can be plugged to a timer.

OK

Im not sure if it'll grow plants though.

I take it you want to make an aquarium out of the containers, and not use them to store dried shrimp ;)
I would definitely not recommend trying that in a 0,55 gal or smaller. 2 gal minimum, you want the water to be somewhat stable.
Then the Led; it's only 10 Lumen. For comparison; a 15 watt fluorescent about 650 (depending on the type..) which is often used for small tanks. So for a 2 gallon aim for like 100 Lumen?
Also note (this ties in to the post I made about Leds the other day) it is advertised as consuming "up to" 85% less energy, but when you click "technical information" it falls under "average energy class" They compare it to incandescent bulbs, but no incandescent bulb in the home was ever 10 Lumen, or anything close to it. The smallest incandescent bulb was 15W, which was something like 120 Lumen. Yes this Led uses a fraction of the energy, but also gives a fraction of the light.
It's 2700K, meaning everything will look very yellow. We have to assume it has a low CRI, making everything look like the same. In itself that don't matter much for plants, but the 10 Lumen... that's next to nothing.
