Jay's Planted 180g Tank.

Thanks for the kind replies.

Very nice! I like your idea of more rotala along the back, the clump looks too narrow for the height now. But I have too big of an area of it, wish I was better at controlling it, I'm sure you are, lol.

I don't find it any easier, when I had a big area I alternated between pulling the whole thing and replanting tops or just cutting off the tops. This bunch of Rotala has been propagated from a small number of stems that survived. I also have a few Vals back there but they haven't gotten any taller or spread enough to be noticed yet.

Still don't have quite enough of what I need to get scaping but I'm getting close to just letting the rest ride out. The right side which I find most critical for me (view into the tank 1st thing you see in throught the door) of course is very slow growing, but it is exciting jus the same seeing how the submersed crypt growth is coming in. As I realize the amount of plants on my list I find it funny I have so many open spaces. One plant I definitely want to try in here again is Alternanthera reineckii which I should be able to get my hands on relatively easily.

Thanks for looking.

Looks great!

As always thanks for the kind replies.

I cleared out the left front where the stargrass was because it dawned on me that it would look better in front of the rotola and I think I can manage it as foreground and midground the way on want we'll see. In it's place I'm going to be splitting some of crypt parva in areas where it's crowding. The water has a lot of particals floating around making it cloudy from disturbing the substrate.

I need to do some serious nana petite splitting as well but I think I ran out of small rocks to weigh them down. You can finally see signs of the crypt balansae peaking out behind the driftwood to get an idea of how I want that to fill in. I chopped back the Ludwigia repens x arcuata but it still needs more prunning. I need something short in that front right corner.

I'm excited to finally have a plan for all the spaces sorted out though I still have to exercise patience and give it a chance to fill in. The crypt parva foreground is growing in great and filling faster than lead to believe.
