Any variety in the diet is good for them. Also remember to give them worms once a week or so. It's not necessary, but it's really good for them.

Kuhli loaches can reach up to 4" in length and can get quite fat. They do like to swim around a lot and need lots of swimming space. If they are not exhibiting this behavior it could be due to several things: like improper group size, poor water quality, improper temperature, too much lighting or not enough places to hide.fballguy said:IMHO, saying that a 10 gallon is too small for kuhlies is a bit over the top. They are very small and do not need much swimming space. They are not a quick fish that zips around all over the place, in fact they are pretty much the exact opposite of that.
I would recomend 5-7 minimum. Your tank may have been too bright for them, did you watch for them at night?fballguy said:How many do you reccommend keeping in a group? I used to have 3 in the 1st tank in my sig and they almost always hid. When they did come out they still were not extremely active. They just crept along the bottom scavenging for food. Never zipped around all over like you say. Was the tank too small? Did I have too small a group?
