Mafia 46: In the Dark

OMG! I was just starting my post so this is not an OMGUS..well maybe it could be an OMGUS from last night......but whatever! I vote to lynch Ogre I have stated my thoughts on him the past few days so I refuse to do so again. Sorry Ogre - but you seem to be so sure I am on the opposing team; I know what team I am on, so I vote for you.

Here it is. I just missed it in my first run through the quotes.

One more thing before I go to sleep.

Let's say Lucky and Noods were both Mafia and that they recruited a communcating innocent. Then in one night they lost Dawg and Noods. That left them with Lucky and someone else left. Then Lucky comes up as a top suspect as an act of desperation, they come out.

It is pretty appearent that Lucky came out to save his neck. I couldn't see a good reason not to lynch him for attempting to save Dawg.

Why would a team recruit one of their top suspects?

JL, the scenario that you've proposed above cannot be the case. If it were, the game would be over as all the mafia would be dead.

2 mafia Day 1 + 1 recruit Night 1 - 2 mafia Night 2 + 0 recruit Night 2 - 1 mafia Day 3 = 0 mafia / Game Over

At this point I think that Lucky was probably just following noodles versus actually trying to save Dawg.

Ogre, I've seen your most recent post (the long one). I've also been thinking about some of this, and have some thoughts that'll follow.

Despite Lucky's outburst, my key suspect still has not changed. I'm DMing later today and I don't want to forget to vote. I don't see my vote changing much, so...

I vote to lynch Rich.

All my arguments are in my past posts. While I think I believe Lucky, I'm not 100%...so I'd like to give LadyG a bit more time to prove herself.

Quite the turn of events. I tend to think that Lucky was telling the truth, I wish he had not done that, but that is where we are.

Just so you know I said the above not because it will help me in what ever twisted way you guys come up with but because it diminishes the game.

I will be gone until late the afternoon or early evening. Looking forward to quite the read when I get back.

I will not throw a random vote out just to be safe, I will just be sure to make it back in time.

C-Note, I was just putting out thoughts. I am not sure about the teams count. I am also unsure if Ice would replace a player he removed from the game. I thought they started with 2 and added one at the begining of the game and one each night. I need to read the rules some more, but will admit to skimming them. I was thinking each team should be at 4, but maybe it is 3. If it is 3 then the only way Lucky and Noods were mafia is if Ice replaced Lucky.

I am pretty sure Lucky was indeed a communicating innocent as well as Noods. I still question the reasoning in recruiting someone that Lucky had high as a suspect. I hope whoever is left on this team (be it 1 or 2 players) uses their power a little more wisely.

Alright gang, this is going to be a long one.

While I agree with most of what Ogre has said, just wanted to add a few additional thoughts.


Here are 3 of Rich's earlier lists on Day 1. None of these are quotes of Rich's that I posted yesterday when I showed him possibly covering for Dawg.

If you look closely, in the first list I'm not a suspect, in the second list I am, and in the third one I apparently never was, as I am absent from that list and Rich says, "The others that have taken an active part today have not done anything to make me suspect them as of yet."

Rich keeps moving me all over the place, and I suspect that it's because I was all over Dawg. He wanted to help Dawg but to do so strongly would lead back to him, so he tried to help a little bit here and there. Once again, more inconsistent lists from Rich where he looks to be looking out for Dawg.

Wow take the wife out for dinner and you come back to a novel.


Jarred you thought we had a lot of post before. Hehe. have a cup of coffee ready to read all this.

A lot of lively discussion. I tend to think that mael's was a random vote, which he will never admit now.

Lucky, Mael and Gunslinger seem to be having a good time stirring things up. I wonder about where they are aligned.

I also worry about those who have not spoke at all. We have another day for that to change so I wont put much on that yet.

Right now gunslinger would be top on my list. He is going out of his way to push others as candidates. I don't feel an early random vote is that important.

My list.

Gun he has been pushing mael and keeping him in the spot light. Seems very interested in removing him.

Mael - the early vote was odd, may have been to stir things up but he refuses to confirm that and gets quite hostile when it keeps coming up.

Noodles and C-note something just not quite right here. just a feeling no real evidence.

This all quite interesting and leads to more thought. I see no reason to change my vote I still think guns is a mafia. I guess we see.

All of this back forth has not done anything to change my mind.

I think mael is playing hard but I don't have him as my top suspect right now.

Noodles is worrisome and lucky is of interest to me. they both seem to be saying a lot while not saying anything.

We still have few that I have no feelngs for at all since they have not said anything.

The others that have taken an active part today have not done anything to make me suspect them as of yet.

Ogre pointed this out somewhat, but just I wanted to point out that even though LG names Dawg and Rich as suspects...note that out of her suspects, she names Dawg and Rich last.

Also note that in the first paragraph that she qualifies everything by pointing out that sometimes she gets PRs (the CIs) confused with mafia.

Uh oh! Maybe Dawg and Rich are PRs...could that be why they look so evil? :grinno:

Well, I've gone back and re-read everything, I have to say I am sooo conflicted as to who to vote. I see so many as suspicious but there are only 3 Mafia...trying to keep in mind there are also CI's and I sometimes get PRs as evils on my radar.

I tried to think about if I were Mafia, who would I turn...If I were CI who would I want. Just trying to figure out in my own mind, I don't think it is a good idea for us to list who we would turn and why IMO, that just gives the Mafia a advantage in their choices.

In going back I just keep going back and forth between Orge and Noodles as top. Then I come across things from Lucky that just make me go Hmmm, Now Dawg he has raised big time for me. I look at Rich and think I can see him as mafia too.

So now I have 5 ppl I'm looking at and only 3 can be Mafia, so my vote is going to the one that bothers me the most when reading their posts, which would be Orge and Noodles. I think to myself...Orge well I know I have played several games with him and was sure he was mafia only to be wrong, I think it is just his style really. I may kick myself later for this, but I vote to lynch Noodles.

This vote can and may change.



Ok, whatever you say Dawg...I twisted nothing in your words. Maybe you meant it a different way then it was worded or I took it, but I didn't twist any of your words.

Here' just a misc. post of Rich's. I asked him a question about it earlier that he ignored, but look at the comment on Lucky and noodles, it's pretty generic and doesn't make much sense.

He says of Lucky and noodles that he's very wary of them and keeps reading their posts to try to get a feel for them. Kinda says that he has no feel for them doesn't it? So why even mention them separately, and not just toss them in with the 'others' on whom he is 'waiting for more info'? Weird.

Interesting, I knew I would be on people's lists since I voted for an innocent. I went with what I thought was right.

I think Ogre is innocent, he just enjoys talking and analyzing probably why he is a fixture in these games. He makes some valid points. The only question I have about Ogre is was the gun thing a lets see what happens when I say this or a scheme by a veteran mafia player to remove some one they thought was dangerous.

I am very wary of noodles and lucky at this point. I keep reading their posts and try to get a feel for them.

C-note seems innocent to me right now, we shall see.

The others, I am waiting for more info.

As I said before, I like Rich for scum, and now strongly suspect LG also.

It might be smarter to go for LG first, but it looks like some are gravitating to Rich. Would like to hear people's thoughts.

If a communicator from the opposite team is chosen for recruitment, though, a member of the CHOOSING team dies, and they don't get the recruit....it kind of counts like an investigation, in that the choosing team will at least have learned the status of the person selected.
