moderator abuse

I am very happy with the way this site is run and moderated kudos to all involved to make it a happy,friendly and help full place to visit :)

:iagree: I love this forum and the way it is run. I have visited other forums and none had the same "community" or "family" feel. You can't please all of the people all of the time, but if some are that unhappy that perhaps another site would suit them better. Why would anyone stay where they were not happy? :duh:
 
I am not unhappy. Quite the contrary. I'm just interpreting this thread as I see it.

We are not asking people to re-word their sentances all the time, we just would like a community that is not rude or diss-respectfull....

I have said this times before, we do not hold people to randsom to stay at AC....If you want to find a forum which does not moderate the language posted, or allows people to flame others, then, were not stopping you from finding another forum.

this site is meant to be and is ran to be a family site full of people who share the same hobby or passion for fish that most of us do and to share their experiences and knowledge with others. The mods here are all great people from what I can see. if your post was edited or delete, im sure it was a reason for it. I have had my threads edited and I personally dont care.
if you really hardcore and real abuse from the mods, visit some of the auto forums out there. trust me they are bad. BUT, in fairness to them, most of the edited or delete post there IS a reason for it.

In fact, if it wasnt for many of the mods here... our beloved goldies will still be in a 10 gallon instead of a 65 and moving up to a 150+ soon. and Im sure they would be dead.
 
i love when people run around doing and saying whatever they want. and then they get a small slap on the wrist...and then they sit and complain for hours about how they have no freedom and their lives are censored! lol

i like our mod team...they are great...they have edited a post or two of mine, and i dont care...anyone who minds how our mod team runs things can go find a different forum where people get banned before their post gets edited.

I HAVE NO PROBLEM IF THEY DELETE MY POST - GO FOR IT - JUST DO NOT EDIT WHAT I AM SAYING, YOU HAVE NO RIGHT TO DO THAT.

The post that caused me to start this thread contained no vulgarity, no false information, but one of the mods thought it was "rude" and edited it. My point is, if it really rubbed him the wrong way he should just delete it, I DON'T WANT OTHER PEOPLE CHANGING MY WORDS. I even said in my post "I can be a **** from time to time," its not like I'm not acknowledging my own part!!!!!

I think in 99% of the cases the mods probably do WAY more good than harm, but the very idea that they can edit or change your post is abusive in my mind. It gives them the power to misrepresent what others are saying. I'm not even saying that's what happened in this case, but I have a real problem with it conceptually. Why do I have to leave this forum??? Why can't I point out something that might help it??? Shoot I think the very mod who edited my post already said just about the same thing IN THIS THREAD.

We have every right to edit any post on the forum if we believe it neccesary, as per section 5 of the TOS which you agreed too when you joined AC..

5. Content Filtering

Aquaria Central reserves the right to edit, delete, or prune any and all Messages which, in its sole opinion, violates any of the terms and conditions of this Agreement, or is viewed in our judgment as inappropriate at the time of submittal or at anytime thereafter.

AS has been already said, if your of a mind set to post rude or derogatory comments, then step back, take a breather...chill out...there really isnt any need to be calling people names...its a fish forum...
