My First Betta!

I don't think bettas would like to mess around in sand since they can't eat off the floor very well with their upturned mouths.

That's a pretty fish!

I have one that was sold to me as a crwontail whose got very full fins but they are solid, not fringey like this one.

I got a second one recently with the same sort of fins as this one and it was sold to me as a splendens. I don't know much about their catagories, I just know PRETTY!

Bettas are generalized as Betta Splendens, someone correct me if I am wrong, but I think Crowntail (like above), Spade Tale, Veil Tail, or any of the other types are all categorized under Spendens.

Here are the New pictures! :D

Wow that betta is a beauty it matches your avatar. I like the pic where he is coming at the camera head on almost looks like a "skeleton fish".

What a cutie!
I think your bamboo will be OK. I had a piece in an old betta's tank like that for several months. It didn't grow very much, but it didn't rot or anything.
