I don't think bettas would like to mess around in sand since they can't eat off the floor very well with their upturned mouths.
That's a pretty fish!
I have one that was sold to me as a crwontail whose got very full fins but they are solid, not fringey like this one.
I got a second one recently with the same sort of fins as this one and it was sold to me as a splendens. I don't know much about their catagories, I just know PRETTY!
Bettas are generalized as Betta Splendens, someone correct me if I am wrong, but I think Crowntail (like above), Spade Tale, Veil Tail, or any of the other types are all categorized under Spendens.
