Yeah, well I have tried some of the more "pink" cultivars (jacobsenii & flamingo? & maybe another "pink") in my low tech tanks & I'll just say...they're different without co2 or higher light. Not less pretty,, just maybe less pink, lol.

Yeah they're pretty distinctive among the crypts, hard to mistake them even submersed haha

The price kinda has kept me from flamingo though. It's expensive

Just further growth on this tank.

I wasn't happy with the layout, so I made it into 2 separate "islands". Bit stirred up from the moving things around, but I think I'm liking this. Less monotonous like the wall of mess it was before. Fish seem to like it.

I like the twigginess connecting the 2 instead of empty space, more unifying.
Me too!
Ended up taking a new pic today since the water is clearer and not stirred up from moving things. Looks better. The fish seem to like it too, didn't get rid of their cave system under the wood, but creates a more dynamic area for them to explore. Been seeing the tetras explore further into the tank besides their spot under the log where the pleco cave is lol

Side view! This is the side I see from the couch, this tank is beside the couch in our living room.

Couple more photos of the brochis splendens. Really lovely fish, I love the colour (green is my favourite colour after all). One individual is darker than the other.

Betta tank. Had to bomb it with some hydrogen peroxide the other day, had a bit of an issue with cyanobacteria in a couple places. So I removed the betta, did a heavy spot dose of peroxide, let it sit for a bit, then rinsed it all out a couple times, then filled it back up properly, put a spray bar onto the filter for extra circulation and it's so far good. She doesn't seem to mind the flow, been actually entertaining her a bit, she likes to chase her food down haha

And little Miss Seashell herself, looking for food.

I found what I think may be an albino ramshorn snail, so I've separated it to another container after these pictures to see if it breeds true, or if it's just a genetic glitch.

Love the new look! What's the purple plant in the vid (pic 3?) I don't know that 1 or the really tall aponogeton(?). Nice fish pics, but I expect that from you :D , husband liked them too!

That little plant is still (but slowly) growing, it is caloglossa cf. beccarii, aka "red moss". It's technically an algae, but sold as a moss. It's relatively rare, especially in my country lol can expect to pay $20 for a 1.5" ball portion. It's easy though, but slow. But really pretty. My portion there is about the size of a quarter. Very small. Mine came as a random contaminant from a plant order from somewhere that sells it, so I lucked out. Been growing it from the size of a dime though lol
(Not a plant compatible with peroxide, algaecides, or flourish excel, will melt to high heaven)

The tall plant is Cryptocoryne usteriana! Easy plant, but grows massive (up to 3 feet tall). I love it, mines still relatively young to this tank, coming back from a melt from being added. Bought a mature large plant from a local. I put it directly in the flow of my tank though, since it's pretty durable.
