New 30gal setup

Yep. Sincerely, the dogs even prefer that little dragon goby over the flashier yellow tang. He'll get bigger than some other gobies at 5-6 inches but he should be fine in your tank. They don't need lots of swimming room. I do feed him twice a day.

Well Friday was my birthday and the plan was to go to the LFS and look at possibly getting a couple small corals (mushroom, zoa, etc) and maybe a goby. Instead I ended up making 3 trips to the hardware store trying to replace the botched thermostat for my central AC. It is amazing the junk that some builders put into a new home and I had no idea. ARGH!!!

I'm hoping that maybe Sunday I'll get my LFS trip in. Tomorrow will be spend partying at the lake with family. WOOHOO!!!

Belated Happy Birthday to you dude! Have fun out on the lake today and hope to see pictures of a new inhabitant in your tank tomorrow :thm:

Cheers!

Thanks Yash.

I found a new algae in my tank today. It is kind of Maroon in color and it forms a skin. Any thought anyone?

On a funny note, one of my hermits (the smaller one) decided he wanted a new home. He took residence in one of the shells I dropped in there, and of course he wanted one of the larger ones. He is so small in there and he tries so hard to move. He refuses to give up.

I wasn't sure what cyano looked like so I did some searching. It would appear that is what I have, but when I get home I'll try and take some pics (might have to wait until tomorrow). Sounds like this is something I"m going to want to get rid of. I don't understand all the algae growing. That is something I'm not used to with setting up a freshwater tank.

Tiki,
If you look in this thread Niko posted some links to help you figure out if you have Cyano or Dinoflagellates. Hope this helps.
