Thanks Pony... was a pain to file down all the sharp edges on the obsidian but it was worth it. It looks dramaticaly different now with the addtional rock; updated photos coming tonight.
With the additional stock coming on Wednesday (9 more specimens), I needed to get some real caving/cornices/overhangs into the rock field. A few additional pieces of large holey rock and version 3 of the tank is now my absolute favorite. It has that feeling of being at depth under water. I also swapped out the T5 lamps and am now using the 18K flourescents only. This makes the tank look more blue in hue and helps with the deeper water feel:
Muzi Gold Head comps continue to grow.
You can see one of the new Neo. brichardi in this shot.
And the same Neo. brichardi hung out for the next shot. I just have the pair (both females I believe) but thus far, they are one of my favorite specimens.
Green tank vs. Blue tank: The drastic difference in appearance between the two tanks makes the room more interesting and is more appealing than the original version/lighting of the Tang tank (with the large piece of driftwood). With the new arriving stock , the Tangtank might just become my personal favorite.
LMAO dude, I'll get you an updated shot. The battle against the BBA (don't know about the war) is won f(or now). Excel plus the massive trim seems to have severely hampered the tide. Did a water change over the weekend and the FX5 was still filled with all the cuttings I couldn't net our from that lawncare. The real pity is that blyxa are seriously hurtin' and the vals are starting to show some wear; I think both are feeling poorly with the Excel. I am backing off the Excel now and hope the specimens recover. Regardless, I never want to deal with that blight again.
All drip acclimated and now in the Rift tank in the breeder containers (seperated from the bichir until they are all at full strength). The zebras and the petricolas in particluar have such great patterns and coloration. Lights off for now, so photos (hopefully) later.
I really need a camera that will let me take a good macro photo. Until then, here's some lousy shots of the new Tang stock:
Did the senegalus bichir eat any of the new Tang stock?
NO! LOL
We finally had enough of him swiping at the petricolas and did what had to be done. Brand new 36 gallon Aqueon bowfront :lipssealedsmilie:We're now going to take him to the tank at my wife's office so he can have a full 55 gallons for an "oddball" tank.
The real question is what do we do with the new 36 gallon bowfront after he get's moved? I'm sure I'll figure out something...
