PETA roars over U.K. army?s bearskin hats

The New American appears to be a propaganda engine, from what I read it seems to be, at best, sensationalitic journalism. That's not to say that it doesn't have sources, but that they are to the right wing what Michael Moore is to the left.

I'm curious as to the context in which you've studied these topics. You've yet to offer what I would view as proof or irrefutable facts. Your reference(s) are all from a source that I would consider highly dubious. Are you suggesting that NOAA and the WMO (the founder of the the IPCC) are wrong? Or is it that these well organisations, revered in the scientific comunity, are working towards some sinister end?

In both my studies in Chemistry and Oceanography, the latter being the most relevant to climate issues, I've encountered several scientists who have studied/are studying the climate issue and I've yet to encounter one who refutes it. I've seen the data plots of historical CO2 levels more times that I can count and within the glacial-interglacial oscillations we are well above the highest measured levels: based on ice core measurements.

I understand that geologists have little interest in climate change, on a geological time scale and cycling it's irrelevant, but most of us care more what happens in the next 1000 years than 1000,000 years. I could go more in depth as to why it doesn't matter to a geologist, but I'd rather not.

So you see, I am very interestested in what facts from what sources have convinced you that climate change is a big lie. I have access to all the major repudable journals through the University Library, so don't feel that you need limit yourself to internet references.

I haven't even read the article yet and I know already that it's about a bunch of crazy liberals whining about something that only PETA cares about.

We're killing infants and handicapped persons left and right in America and these loosers are whining about papa bear and bambi. Hey folks, deer are for eating, if they weren't, they'd taste like rice cakes. Let's spend our time saving the innocent and cleaning our aquariums.
Right on!

Bears wander into towns? or towns are built where bears would normally wander? :troll:

I find it difficult to believe that canada needs to cull 50K bears a year. Perhaps canada wants to cull 50K bears a year, and that that 5K+ that they get for each hide may sure help sweeten the deal.

No the government is not there to make money off of bear hides. It is not an industry, it is a controlled recreational hunt. When you do kill a bear you can keep the hide or sell it; also you need to preserve all the meat you can (bear taste like pork). Only if you were to sell the hide a 15% royalty would go to the provincial ministry in charge of protecting wildlife. No you don't get 5k per pelt, more like 800 US if your lucky. Also the women that buy these bear pelts are probably the same ones complaining about them being killed.

Not arguing anything related to the PETA article, but you say that deer are for eating cause they taste good. Well...people taste like chicken. When's the last time you ate a person?

Not a vegan, just showing you the major hole in your logic :-)

Okay, but let's forget science for a moment. There are 6+ billion people on the planet. They take up space, burn fossil fuels, and carry out life processes, like breathing! At what point in history were there 6+ billion people on the planet? Never! The bottom line is that you can't add that many people and expect there to be no effect.

What do you suggest? Break out the nukes and sink a few continents in the name of population control? Heh.

Really though. Sounds like a good reason for the whole world to stop killing each other in the name of Allah and anti-terror and put their collective heads together and work on how to get to and successfully colonize other worlds.

You are scarey.

But serioiusly that was a joke. And if the flesh of animals didn't taste good to us we wouldn't eat any of them. Eating people is just a silly idea and you know that. But to be fair Soylant Green is people.

Their is no sense in your logic. That statemnet can be debated in so many ways. A good one would be the fundemental laws of creationism. But because some people are naturalist they make their own laws to abide by that can be broken or altered depending on the situation. Which is exactly what your doing with that staement.
