Prisoners 'to be chipped like dogs'...

i think its a good idea.. but honestly, a chip JUST under the skin? easily dug out with a pocket knife.

I saw this movie...it was linked to an exploding vial on Neurotoxin as the base of the spine...with GPS tracking and self-destruct at the push of a button...

Of course some guy on the inside thought it had gone too far and destroyed the control/tracking room...personally I think he was right.

IMO, this is a 2 edge sword kinda thing. I think it is GREAT for sexual predators sorry, but these are ppl who have no business walking our streets...yep they may do their time but it is proven they WILL do it again, if we are going to let them out....knowing exactly where they are at all times is a wonderful thing. I do see it though as an invasion of privacy, so at the same time it really isn't a good idea, but sorry they do not deserve privacy.

For your run of the mill criminal....robbery, drugs, tax evasion, ect...no I do not see it.

Have a better idea. Save the money and kill sexual predators. They are worhless to society.

The only problem I have with this is how do we define sexual predator...there's always the serial rapists/murders and 75yo pedophiles that go after 8yo girls...and it's clear they're in the category you want to get rid of...but many States also add the drunken frat boy who screwed the drunken sorority girl who decided she wouldn't have done it if she weren't drunk, and therefor he must have raped her...the 18yo that's been dating the same girl for 3 years in highschool, but gets charged/convicted because for a few months she's still 17...

There's a fine line, but a firm and definite line must be drawn (one that can be quantized...that's how criminal law works)...and I may not agree with the same exact line you do...but I agree on the extreme cases that they cannot be rehabilitated back into society and therefor death or lifetime imprisonment are the only options...and death -should- be the cheaper of the two for society.

well, for me, I like the idea. I think if you are in prison, you have lost your rights to privacy... sure, that may negatively affect those that are falsely imprisoned but perhaps upon finding they are "innocent", they can have the rice tabs removed surgically. We might start to see less overcrowding in prisons throughout the country.... I think it's at least worth the study of it for a few years.
