Well we talked, and we are getting the new tank.
We will go to the LFS this evening and talk to them to see if they want or know someone that wants the cracked one.
Thanks again everyone.
There is a company my LFS is using called Ocean Views or something like that. He gets in 100 gallon tanks with oak trim on an oak stand and sells them for $399.00 US. No idea how much each one is separate.
pbecot01, this is canadian dollars
and i should have also told you that the drilling and overflows are being custom made for us included in that price. Also some piping I believe.
That price is also with all taxes included, which are outrageous as we all know.
edit: also Brad feels really bad about it and says he will cover most of the cost.
I'm really impressed at how your LFS was able to help you out with your fish. You two must have done a very good job at keeping your heads on straight to collect the fish and only lose one of them. Good job! I hope I never have to find out how I'd react in such a situation...
Yeah that was my first concern
By the time we were able to start collecting them the water had already drained completely.
I'm very suprised only one died also... I'm going to check on my fish this evening and I hope everything's alright.
My LFS is great, they help us out a lot.
An aquariest's worse nightmare !! What a heartbreak !
It's a good thing you're both into aquariums...I can just imagine if the other spouce resented the hobby and had to come home to something like THAT !
The ole "I told you so" theme would be running rampant for years afterward !
Wow Ems...hang in there, do what you need to do.....we're all pulling for you here. I don't know how much sympathy helps in a situation like this..but there's lots of shoulders here to cry on if you feel the need.
And, great job by the way...how you two handled that disaster...you had your heads on straight and made a worse situation..not as bad as it could have been....oO(did that make sense ?)
This was a piece of PVC pipe he dropped and it cracked tempered glass? I seen that photo, are you sure there wasn't a fracture there already from the tank being drilled?
It just don't seem like the force was there to create the fracture and that the crack is right there where the drill holes are.
