Setup for Corydoras Eques (species only)

After doing my high light co2 added tank with some of the pinks reds and even maroons, I wanted more color in the lower low and moderate light tanks. My solution was the stone and gravel yard and river rounds which come in several natural colors. Also lava rock will add red/

My LFS has a couple of Corydoras Venezuela available, although I can tell with the naked eye the difference in orange coloration I see that these corydoras are small and haven't grown in a while, how big are your Corydoras eques? They are quite similar, and I wonder if they are not confusing the species here in my LFS.

The orange venezuelanus are similar colour scheme but have a rounder dark spot on the side that stops just behind the dorsal fin, where on eques the dark spot extends through the tail fin.

Female eques are 3", big ladies. Males sitting at 2.5". They're a pretty good sized fish.

Not long term, they'll eventually outgrow it, but can sell them off at that point.

For permanent sword options, echinodorus parviflorus stays small and would work. Flame swords could as well (that's the one I have in this tank)
