Yes theyre a large species for sure. Couple females sitting at 3" mark

I didn't like the swords being behind the branches, didn't feel they got enough light.

I like your sword placement better too. Shows its color more but still in keeping with the moody shadow effects.

Is it a light green one or the reddish sword?

If its light green it's either stargrass or the Persicaria sp Sao Paulo you are looking at...
Stargrass is a softer stem plant, bit darker green. The Persicaria is the one with the lighter green longer leaves and is a stiff stem plant.

If its the reddish sword that's a flame sword.

No doubt I was turning to see Persicaria sao paulo, I see that it turns red although yours in green looks quite good.

It's starting to go red and it has in the past, it's just bouncing back after being shaded out in its previous tank and then adapting to being moved.

Back in its glory lol


Keep in mind I'm all low tech too.

Local store had ornate tetras mind you, sold under a mislabeled name, but super excited as these are the tetras I originally wanted for this tank.







I took the above photos before feeding time.

I fed frozen today, gave the usual amount, and when I came back to this tank after feeding the others, not a speck of food leftover in sight and some heavily gorged ornates. I'm fairly sure they've never seen frozen food before, and I'm sure they ate the cories share... they're the only gorged fish in the tank while everyone else is still looking for food! I'm in shock, obviously these guys need to be watched with feeding.







I bought out all 6 the store had, they had to pick them out of the phantom tetra tank lol
