Started Mini Bow 2.5 Pico Reef!

oh you got a fish......

That's a cute clown goby. Thanks for sharing the updated pictures.

any suggestions of a kind? i have the same problem.

I've tried Kent Marine pH Buffer and Seachem's Marine buffer and have compared the two. Although I'm a fan of most of Kents products I've found the Seachem buffer to work a LOT better. Works faster and you don't need as much.

Thanks guys!

I did a 40% water change yesterday and tested the water last night.
pH- still 7.8-7.9. I don't understand why a water change didn't raise it at all. Time to start considering a buffer, I s'pose.
Ammonia= 0
Nitrite= 0
Nitrate= 10
temp= 78
SG= 1.024

I think that since I just went open-top, I may have to top up twice a day to keep SG stable. I'm now keeping a pitcher of FW next to the tank for that, lol. Also, I am in the process of switching to RO water. My water change yesterday was part RO, part distilled.

Thanks everyone!

I did another water test a while ago and everything still looks pretty good.
pH= 7.8
ammonia= 0
nitrite= 0
nitrate= 10
temp= 79
SG= 1.024
I'm planning on doing another water change tomorrow.

I've also got a couple more pics!

I got 2 of these snails for free this weekend because they were chillin' on my mushroom rock when I bought it. This one climbed up the heater, and almost ended up in the filter!:eek:

My clown goby took a few bites of mysis tonight (finally!), and then came out for a pic.

I'm really having fun with this tank!:dance:

I read "my clown took a few bits" then I noticed how there was a bite mark on the mushroom. I was like what the heck for a second then I realized the clown took a bite of mysis and it was two mushrooms :rolleyes:
