Starting up Saltwater! Woo!

Also, that green cactus looking algae on the left rock looks like halimeda which is a calcareous macro algae in case you wanted to reserach it more.

epic awesome! Great finds with the LR hay! Wish mine was that alive :) I love the tank, it looks awesome, good luck with it!

Yeah, greech, It is quite cured. It was in their tanks for well over 3 weeks so a lot of the die off happened at the store. Last night I got a little ammonia reading (around .5ppm) but that is probably due to the little die off but will get cycled quickly. I think your right also. I don't like the huge stacks of rocks. Maybe just a little more.

My AC70 arrived and I silliconned some stuff in and it will be ready to be running as a fuge in a few days :D

The other coral is pinky/puple on the outside ring and a really bright green on the inside layer. they are kind of plates. I still don't know what they are but I will have a research :) The green isn't a coral, its just the 'rock' it came on. Its not really a rock, just a dead peice of coral that these corals have attached to :)

Thanks for the kind words!

Yup, the brown ones are buttons after having a google search but i'm not sure about the other one... It doesn't have the flat plate like structure of the chalice I see but it might be... If they are chalice they probably won't survive. lol because they are SPS right? I don't think my water params would be sustainable for them.

Thanks :)

Well... I got bored and was just staring at the tank and found a pink button polyp (really cool actually) and a brittle starfish! Its pink and white. Im almost certain its a brittle. I could only see one of it's leg but it definatley looked like one..

Greech, do you know what that red macro algea is?

ahh okay, one of the google searches says it was SPS. Because they are next to eachother, will they harm eachother?

Thanks :)

Some of those tanks on that link are AMAZING :O lol.

Both can sting if they touch. Palys would probably win out. If you can separate them without damaging them I would. The chalice (or whatever) looks like it is encrusted on the rock.

I just realized I could blow up your previous pics and I guess I missed you saying the green was a coral skeleton. Is the blue/green tissue what is left of that coral? If so, it still could be a chalice but also maybe a candy cane or trumpet coral. If there are more palys around it they may have stung it to the point it receded.

Umm, the price is an old skeleton but there are 2 different corals growing on it. The buttons and the chalice (?). How would i separate the buttons?
