Stocking advice for a planted 92 corner tank

Also, new lights will be in tomorrow. How many tetras would one be able to safely stock with about a dozen Cory's in a tank that is cycled without fish and has about 160 gallons total volume?
why don't you do something cool like cichlids? U got a decent sized tank, a sump, and there are tons of colorful cichlids out there with much more intelligence and personality than some tetras

I want the plants, and I really like a big tank full of tiny fish.

there are dozens if not hundreds of small or even tiny cichlids that wont disturb the plants - Apistogramma for starters, Kribensis, Etroplus, Laetacara, Mazarunia, Mikrogeophagus, Nannacara, Julidochromis, Taeniacara, Dicrossus.....the list goes on and on......like a LOT lol

Don't overlook the Dwarf Angelfish (Pteropyllum leopoldi) also, it only grows 2''

Bunsen, get the fish you like! Don't be swayed by what I or Frank think other than suggestions. I love loaches; Frank, cichlids...doesn't mean you have to buy into our favorites, lol. You (& your girls ;) ) should focus on fish you all like. Make it a family & plant friendly tank! You won't be sorry. My club friend w/ small girls love! BN plecos (L144 males especially)...OK, I gave them to them, lol. Maybe yours will too! Who doesn't love a bristly male? LOL!

I want to see fridge fish art!!

I really like cichlids and loaches too. I am trying to keep this system planted and small though. Once it gets grown out and stable, I want to get some inverts, so loaches are probably out of the question, unless I get kuhlis.

My wife actually told me that her favorite fish that we kept back in the day were mollies, so maybe we will go that way. I could buy fish and they would grow in slowly that way.

I think that we decided to not fight our water chemistry, so which small cichlids that are plant and invert friendly would you suggest for pH 8 and hard water?

off the top of my head, that is pretty high, so I would only say Julidochromis and although Neolampro-, Altolampro- or Lamprologous would fit I would not recommend them due to their aggressive disposition. There are others but much research is needed in the meantime. 8.0ph would not suit most SA or African Riverine Dwarf cichlids...... possibly Etroplus and CB Kribensis.... we have breeding pairs of Kribensis at 7.2-7.6PH so I assume 8 is ok, but make surre they are CB since they stay between 5-6.5PH in the wild

My water is pH 8.0-8.2 after aging, KH is around 150 ppm, and GH is around 300 ppm. At some point today, I will probably get an RO system, but not in the near future. I also need to find another place to get water in my house, since the utility sink is the only one that has softened cold water for some reason. I might just T into a little e that is nearby for the back garden hose, but don't want to bother sweating the pipe right now. If it were PVC, it would already be done.
