Going to check out petland later today to see what they have. I know some people think poorly of petland, but there is always someone who thinks poorly of petco or petsmart as well. I want to see what they have, especially for shrimp since the only type I can find around here is ghost shrimp.

Without going crazy, what is a good number of rcs for a 10g tank? what about a 5g? Keep in mind, not interested in breeding them (although they will probably do that on their own anyway), just to look neat, and maybe help clean up if they do that.

Lol, well considering they will probably breed and stuff, maybe like 6 to start with. 4 for the 10 and 2 for the 5 (to see if they get along most likely will). Then maybe more later on, not too far away if they actually have them. But I doubt they do.

ive asked the question before. people have kept bristlenose plecos without wood for years. if you want ill link the thread. :)

Link all you want...doesn't mean they were kept in the most desirable conditions, and could have been getting the fiborous needs else where. But to state they just eat what is on wood isn't really true..... Ever spend 20 years raising them? Ever been to www.planetcatfish.com and actually researched before making claims?

not 20 years but yes i have researched. they dont have the protein in their diet like panaques. they eat algae and vegies. they wont die without it.

errrmm..the wood doesn't give them protein..it helps the digestive track function....

So, answer up, how long have you kept and bred plecos, BNs specifically? How many different types?
